Westcott Black Anodized Lift Kit

Question for those out there that have a Westcott Black Anodized lift kit on order (or may have received theirs)......how long has everyone been waiting for theirs to be delivered? I ordered my 2022 Toyota Tundra Preload Collar Lift Kit - SR5, Limited, Platinum, 1794, TRD Sport, AVS/Air Ride - AVS/Air Ride (Hitachi Shocks), Black Anodize on 30 March.

6 weeks has come and gone....then the video from W.D. saying that it may be 8 weeks now for the black anodized kits.....

Just wondering if anyone else is experiencing long order times?

 

I heard from a shop in cali that westcot is having problems with there guys that do it for them and they have been canceling orders

I ordered the full 3/1 non anodized solely becuase shipping estimate was only 2 weeks. I just got it in the mail this week. It took about 4 weeks in total. Definitely experienced the longer wait time as well.

 

I also ordered my not-anodized kit on May 4th, and it shipped May 11th (received it a few days later).

Brian from Westcott said it takes them 3-4 weeks to get stuff anodized. I was going to get it done on my own, at a local shop (for $80) but ultimately I decided to paint it.
Used proper aluminum primer, then sprayed it; just to get a layer of something between the aluminum parts and the springs/shocks, to slow down inevitable oxidation b/w dissimilar metals.
We'll see how it all holds up a few years down the road...

Yeah I thought about doing that as well....but now I am just committed to the anodized version....WHENEVER I get it. Brian has been a help but no one from WD has been answering emails for the past week or so...disappointing to say the least.

And this is your second set right?

 

My BORA black-anodized spacers held up well over the years as far as exposed aluminum wear/oxidation protection ( meaning: the finish is pretty much as the same as it was originally), but after a few years went by there is/was a slight layer of oxidation at the contact point between the spacers and the rotors/hubs. Once the 2 parts "rub against each other" ever so slightly, the chemical reactions start and nothing will stop it, unless there is a layer b/w the iron and aluminum.
But, I'm not advocating against anodizing, just saying that I didn't want to wait so long and decided on this process-whether good or bad time will tell.

Give me till mid next week to decide, but I am most likely selling the one I bought (going full coilover/ UCA/ air springs). Its black and for the TRD OR shocks.

 

I don't see it being an issue with the coil spacers, but a very light coating of anti-seize on aluminum wheel spacers on the hub mating surface really helps with the dissimilar metals sticking to each other.

 

My kit took 11 weeks and countless emails and IG messages. No issue with the kit itself, the customer service was good as well just their ability to meet demand was/is lacking. Vendors don't help matters I know.

 

11 weeks is nuts...when I ordered the kit it was 4-6 weeks......

 

Said "2-3 weeks lead time" when I ordered......

 

I ordered mine black anodized on 3/21 still waiting.

 

ordered 3/23 avs kit shortly after it was released on their site. next wednesday completes week 8. emailing them a few weeks ago i was given a time of 6-8 weeks. pinging them next week after letting the 8th week pass. possibly switch to the raw kit if it comes faster. really a bummer. would be great if they can find a new anodizing vendor or having a secondary given it's impacting many of their customers. that would be good business. they've told me there's nothing they can do but finding another or secondary is something they can certainly do.

not complaining...just calling out something can be done. they have been responsive to inquiries but just say 'there's nothing we can do'.

 

So I conversed with Brian today via email. They are expecting a large number of black anodized product today or early next week. He told me that my order should be part of those kits. Again I ordered on 31 March. Fingers crossed

 

My guy said he heard nothing about my order from Westcott, but you’ve given me hope.

 

It’s been 5 weeks for me for the raw aluminum

 

Yeah, I just emailed them again regarding what they told me last week. By the way, they now have an "order status email" for inquiries.

I ordered my black set back in late January and it took 8 weeks back then, didn’t receive til Mid-March. I’d be curious to know how many of these kits they’ve sold!!

 

Got word back from WD....they are awaiting the 4 hole spacers for the top of front shocks....not sure why those weren't part of a "set" that went forward for anodizing....but whatever.

I hear their quality is exceptional and the engineering is even better....but their ability to execute logistics and manufacturing processes (with or without subs) is disappointing.

 

5 weeks, will be delivered tomorrow. Non- anodized, black Hitachi shocks, platinum no AVS.

 

I ordered mine 10 March...every two weeks I ask whats up and get a bullshit response and they say another weer or two....I've been told this 4 times. Im fucking fed up with their crap. I get delays and things out of your control but their customer service is fucking terrible

Ordered the Non Anodized on 04/19 was delivered yesterday.

 

seems no one is monitoring that address or at least they aren't responding to me. that's pretty comical. setup an address to handle order inquiries only to ignore them. and yes i gave them time to respond. 9 weeks so far with no updates or response to set expectations. even if they said 12 weeks, ok at least expectations would be set. lol.

 

4 weeks so far for black anodized....hope mine doesnt take 9 weeks
