Ive been watching closely, there were march build failures but no April yet, Im waiting on getting a month or two clear then we should be good.

most failures are happening really early in miles so that helps for those of us tracking it.

Im also watching some of the other QC problems, namely that wind noise one, I just couldn't deal with that. The truck I test drove had wind noise coming from the front windshield dash area

I'm selling my Lightning when it arrives. Ford is just nickel and diming and finally fed up. They removed ambient lighting, removed park assist, the materials are way cheaper and more plastic than my 21 Lariat. It's their future EV but it's honestly dated looking. The front light bar in person looks like an 80's neon lamp. They just raised the shipping cost yet the built ones are just sitting there. My build has been delayed twice. Also not sold on 100% EV. For $12k cheaper I have a supersonic red platinum hybrid incoming. Gets ambient lighting, full coil suspension the same, less in cab space but I like the center console config better, and honestly I've grown to really like the tundra front end. I ordered the pro grille and plan to order new grille surrounds to paint.

Long winded way of saying I'm not worried about the turbo or QC issues. Shit Ford has QC before delivery with the shit materials they are using in the MY22 trucks. Even the Raptor is getting cuts. The 802 high package is getting the same dull trim as the low end package. Ford is making a lot of silent material and feature cuts and raising prices. I'd take my chance on the Tundra turbo issue, who knows where else Ford and others are cutting

Sold my '19 F150 Lariat in March, had the same concerns. Have enjoyed the much nicer fit and finish of the Tundra.

Ford is junk, sell the lariat too because that will become an issue in the next couple of years.
I will NEVER buy a ford after seeing and fixing the issues with friends that own them. I don't know why ford is so proud of the junk they build. F*** ford and their dog shit cars/trucks.

My 2021 Lariat high 5.0 was great. No complaints. But This Lightning has been a nightmare and I'm done. Feature and quality cuts are just slowly happening, 2nd production delay, shipping cost increase. Ford lost me with the in person demo, got to see the boo boo materials in person instead of pickup day at the dealer lol.

The 0-60 is intoxicating and frunk are great, but to me it's about the only thing I can't find in the Tundra. Hoping to make 15-20k reselling it.

Could it be because so few Tundras are being made at the moment?

I haven't seen any at my 2 nearest dealers in 6+ weeks

I was told by my buddy that sold me my truck (Salesman at Toyota for 15+ years) that my Tundra was one of a whopping 5 allocated to the PNW region of 137 dealers within a 60 day window

yup. we called about 50 dealerships across 6 states, most of which had tundras showing as available on their websites. there were maybe 4-5 total tundras that were truly "available" at any of those dealerships, the rest were pre-sold or reserved for someone.

one of the ones that was available was a trd pro, couldn't talk the wife into that price tag. oh the pain.

$16k. this was in wv, not a huge population and not really a place where people would drive to get it (cincinnati, columbus, lexington, and pittsburgh all larger markets, higher volume dealers within 4 hours).

I was sitting here fine with my choice to forego the supersonic red platinum hybrid at msrp for the marked up TRD pro. But this pic makes me wanna say forget the pro.

I was fortunate Dr Z, found this truck 5 months ago allocated to a dealer north of Chicago that agreed to sell it to me (out of state) at MSRP. Placed a deposit, waited 3 months for build and delivery. Wescott lift will arrive tomorrow and plan to install 34 or 35 tires. I also add that the black leather, blue ambient lighting and black headliner is very nice.

Don't say that. The head liner and ambient lighting is what I'll miss most.

The contrast between the black/smoked chrome and the supersonic is really nice.

I think the platinum comes with the best wheels out of them all. Stock wise at least.

Most definitely. Hides brake dust and road grime better. As long as you can keep them off curbs and the service dept. doesn't damage them ripping off lug nuts. I plan to take before and after photos of the area around the lug nuts before and after rotations just in case.
