Nice! I have the same color with the chrome mustache and bumper pieces, which I'm considering color matching. This looks promising.

Not yet. Waiting on my wife's Model Y this week so I can drop off the truck and not be left without a vehicle. Will be slumming it in my Chevy Cruze for a day or two . Shop I talked to said they are an APA authorized dealer and I get a 3yr warranty on the work, can't beat that!

I've also seen people wrap the smaller piece that says "TUNDRA" and surrounds the fog lights as well. Both look good and help to shrink the huge grill down a bit

 

Did you ever get stuff wrapped? I'm wanting to order some but can't decide how much I want to buy. Thought about doing the rocker/jambs inn the door opening fort people's feet sliding on them. And my mirrors caps, they're already color matched, but a day or 2 after getting the truck, I got a rock chip on one. It left a raised black spot. I want to do my fender flares but I don't think it's gonna stick.

 

Not yet...finally bought spare mustache parts that I can just drop off and have the shop take their time with. Should be getting it done soon now that I dont have to drop off the truck. I was told the fender flares wouldnt be a problem and Im actually going to get them wrapped as well.

 

If mine were painted, I would wrap them. I've got a TRD OR so they are factory plastic black. I'd like to find some take offs, but I doubt that'll happen. I've 2 other sample colors coming to see if they are any better.

 

Not sure if anyone is still following this thread. I’m new here… so don’t mind me if this is dead or old news. I’ve attached two pictures of the comet silver that someone had posted. It could have been the OP. Either way….I’m not sold on it. For what it’s worth, my wife said it’s a little too light and not sparkly enough. I also had candy silver samples and that is too sparkly.
Has anyone found a wrap that would work?!
I wrapped some stuff in black on the truck and it came quite naturally to me. I’d prefer to wrap instead of painting due to cost and pain in the ass of painting on that “chrome”.

 

I got some of this from Amazon. In bright sun it's almost spot on. But when you look at it parallel, you can see the base is a different color. I also have another color coming to compare. Supposedly ColorXlabs is as good as it gets but it ain't cheap.

color x labs is no nonsense. Quite expensive!

 

I made a thread for my slow build. I put a lot of pictures up there showing this particular color vinyl. I was gonna send it back but I may use it in the jambs/rocker area and maybe door handle cups.

 

Yeah that comet silver is off.

 

which was a surprise. Someone else here showed it and it looked spot on. I would do black, but black is darker then the grill and as my one buddy put it, it looks like gloss lipstick

 

color x labs crushed WCP for me, probably the hardest color to match out there. It’s still not 100%, but for a satin white pearlescent match it’s really damn close and no one has ever known

 

I'm sure they can get the silver close as well. But if it's not perfect, I have a hard time paying what they want. I can get close alot cheaper. And that's me, cheap LoL. Did you cover anything that wasn't chrome or painted?

 

I agree with you man. By the time you’re done paying them for a near perfect fit, labor to install unless you’re 100% confident and possibly a second piece since you may mess up the first, you may as well paint it. Lol. I may just attempt to paint at this point. This is all in reference to the mustache. I’ve attached a sample of satin black next to my trd grill.

 

Did you ever do the full mustache wrap?
