Keith, thanks for taking my call, answering my questions and making the purchase effortless.

I ended up going with the 10” system with a build and ship date sometime in mid-May. Can’t wait!

Keith got a question, in your opinion what are the difference in sound/performance for a 10" and a custom 11" compared to a 12" system?

It takes 2” to make an audible difference.

I got my 10" DD BAMuffler system for my Ltd '18 CM. Oh Wow!! When I called Keith and told him what I wanted, (originally duals with the PRO sound) he said I would lose low end torque and some HP. I ordered the 10" standard system from his tax sale. Installed a couple of days ago and man do I love the sound. I did not install the resonator at this time, waiting to pull my boat and see if the drone is too annoying. Presently, the growl that starts in mid 2nd gear is awesome, and just goes from there. It truly sounds like a performance exhaust system using the single tailpipe that was stock on my truck. You can't lose with Dirty Deeds!! Plus, Keith always answers his phone and questions. I am more than pleased with my system! @dirtydeeds

I had a 10. It sounds amazing but it was pretty loud. No drone with resonator, but it made noise. Too loud for towing a travel trailer IMO. I would get at least a 12 if concerned about noise level

To echo most of the comments, I love the DD 10" system. Its really not too loud. Even my wife thinks its fine and enjoys the rumbling when we get into the gas pedal. What made me respond to the thread is the service, Keith helped me with gasket questions and then trouble shooting an issue that actually had nothing to do with the new exhaust. Called me back each time I left a question/message. Good company and a good product with an easy install process. Having purchased my system during a group buy I really think the price was great also.

And Shawna will send you a cool sticker if you ask nice. 10" DD, no resonator. I'll eventually install it, I think, and I tow a 22' trailer.

All things being equal, which they're not, Keith should get your business.

Agree I have the 10” DD and love it. I’m 58 and enjoying my years as a teenager again. Did not put the resonator on and I pull a 30’ camper. Be aware though your fuel mileage will go down and it isn’t because of the system its the right foot of yours wanting to hear the growl

Does anyone get slight drone or really deep loud hum at low speeds with the bamuffler? Wondering if maybe i didnt tighten the resonator enough or something. It levels off as you get on it more but at times can get pretty loud/vibration in the cab

8” BAMuffler, TRD airflow accelerator, front window tint/windshield sun stripe, debadged tailgate 4x4 emblem, trimmed mud flaps, antenna removed stainless screw added, TRD rear sway bar, AFE high flow air filter.
I always prefer a dual exhaust look but after reading up on Keith’s evaluation of the Tundra exhaust/performance I ended up with a BAM set up, I got a 10” system first then exchanged it for an 8”, I also had him weld the hemholz resonator on to the muffler weldment and I’m happy with the sound and performance. I would actually like to exchange the 8” for a 6” or just muffler delete at this point, I drive mostly country back roads daily and hammer it often like I’m at the drag strip it sounds so good :)

Its possible that the resonator is not perfectly positioned. Are you sure you aren’t just hearing the noise from the system? Are all the bolts tight still? Not sure what year your truck is, but on mine the front gaskets wore out and were leaking

Ill double check it to be sure everythings tight. Pretty sure ive got the res positioned right but maybe i should clamp down on it more. Ive swapped exhaust a few times so those front gaskets probably do need replacing

Just saw this. I remember you and I were PM about this. The pictures you sent me of the resonator install looked perfect. If the gaskets are bad, you may see some condensation leaking out when the truck is running, and if really bad get a puffing or tapping sound.

I think what you’re hearing is the deeper tone of the straight through exhaust in the lower ranges. The resonator acts like an off switch at cruise above 60/65 mph, and helps tune the sound in the lower range, but you’ll still hear the exhaust - even the 12 inch system - under certain driving conditions.

This is a really good explanation. I have the same sound with my 14” system. Only noticeable to me when Im having a conversation with someone in the car and cruising 45-55mph with radio down. Turn the radio up ever so slightly and it almost disappears.

FWIW, this rumble has been present on every vehicle I’ve put exhaust on - from LS1 camaros to the Tundra.

I’ve had my system for about 6 months now. Wish it was louder 10% of the time, quieter 2% of the time, and think it’s perfect the rest of the time. To me, that’s about as perfect a system can get.

Well folks.......I'm thinking of swapping my DD 12" for either an 8" or 10".

I have it on now for a good 7 months now, first tried it without the res, then with it. Feel like it needs a little something more.....rasp, rumble?

Would like to hear what you guys think?

    Thanks

If anyone is interested in selling their 12" system for a crewmax, I am interested and figure I have to pay shipping, just like from Keith. Let me know. I want a system and want a 10, but should get a 12". 2020 Crewmax Limited. Thanks. Let me know all you wanting to trade. Thanks. Matt

I had a 10 initially, wasn't happy with it as it sounded mostly like stock so then I swapped it for the 8. Still not as loud as I thought it would be based on what others had said. If I had to do it again I would probably go 6, but it does have a nice rumble so I'm hanging onto it for now.

i had the 8 initially then swapped to 12. I didnt have the 8 very long but i dont really think its a night and day difference. Maybe a little more volume with the 8 at WOT. Wish i could afford to have a couple of these systems as easy as they are to swap back and forth.

Anyone still on the fence I just completed a road trip for vacation. 1100 miles each way over the course of a few days. Wife and two children in the car.. not one complaint about noise or drone or anything.

Running a BAM 12” with resonator
