Any info on how to treat, clean, maintain the shock bodies so the exterior doesn't get corroded like these were on a Raptor i used to own? This was after I bought the truck and cleaned them up. Screenshot_20220508-134821_Photos.jpg

I've not tried this personally, but have you thought about trying some naval jelly to clean the rust. Once the rust is clean, or on a new shock body wrapping it with clear protective film.

I had not. I just had the suspension installed in February and it's fine so far but I'd like to keep it that way; so it doesn't get to the point that the ones did in the picture from my old Raptor. Right now the only thing rusty looking is the bolt visible as you look in to see the shock above the tires. This picture is of them when they were new on the Tundra a month ago, the part that's starting to corrode is notable right above the "BDS Suspension" sticker:

After wash I hit the surface rust on that spot with a nylon gun brush soaked in wd40 and it seems to be a good fix. Cleaned right up and hopefully left some protection behind. My neighbors think I'm nuts, washing and wiping down the suspension. They're probably right but it will look nice.

unable to answer your question, however, i am interested in any feedback you can offer regarding your bds 3".

did you go with the 3" CO (824F) kit, or the more affordable 3" IFP CO (824FSL) kit?

im due for shocks and tires and heavily considering the 824FSL kit.

I went with the 3" IFP CO (824FSL) kit as I rarely see real off road conditions and even when I take a day to go explore a bit, the trails accessible to me are pretty tame. Couldn't justify the extra $$ for the external reservoir setup. So the suspension was as much for a little bit of lift, a little bit of looks and to make sure there'd be no rubbing issues (if I go with a larger tire later on). Truck's whole purpose is to make sure I can get to work in any weather as my employer considers me "essential" (except when it comes to pay or reciprocating the loyalty).

my uses will be very similar. rarely off road, and when so, it's typically gravel, dirt, sand and pretty flat terrain.

    any complaints?

thanks for the pics. rig looks great!

No complaints. Looking forward to hitting some more challenging trails and hoping for lots of snow next winter.
