Anyone move to aftermarket suspension? Honestly, this AVS air suspension sucks balls.

Borderline ready to trade in my 22 platinum due the horrible suspension and glitchy acceleration. It's like the shocks have zero rebound damping and the whole truck shakes when I hit a minor bump. I can't see myself keeping the truck in this state, so curious if anyone has upgraded and is happy with the results.

It’s probably your rear bottoming out like the rest of us with AVS. Everyone that has adjusted the rear link says it rides much better. Including myself

    Jr3 - can you elaborate?
(mine also "slams" especially in the rear, and feel similar to OP re: AVS)

    Thanks.

I don't have the AVS but plan to switch to the new Icon Stage 1 shocks this summer. The stock shocks are complete garbage.

Crazy that people are having this issue considering how long Toyota had to develop this platform.

Yeah, I have played with the rear sensor adjustment arm. It did make it slightly better. I have it all the way up and it sits about 1.5" higher than when I got it (tried it in the middle too but like it better in the highest setting). My center console is rattling too although it sounds like most others have this as well. Suspension feels loose with no damping. I think comfort mode feels the worst, honestly, because it just gets looser. I do live at 6300ft elevation but I doubt that is a big enough factor.

i adjusted it wayyyy higher than how it came off the lot and it made the ride a lot better. Comfort setting was horrible as it would bounce off the bump stop and send the ass end up and over. After adjusting it, comfort is safe and actually enjoyable.

Yeah, mine is at the max. Won't go any higher unless I buy an aftermarket arm. Comfort still sucks but agree that it's not as harsh. Sounds like changing to coilover might be more complicated than I thought.

I didnt go to the max adjustment but just to where I can still see some of the adjustment slot next to the bolt head. I didnt go to the max height in fear that the shocks would ask as a limiting strap and yank me down when the suspension would be at full droop. I know westcott includes a spacer for their kit, might have to look into that for mine

    Just did mine.
Literally 2 minute job with a 10mm ratchet wrench.
...didn't even bother to measure how much it readjusted the height, but it did go up by 1" or more.
(whoever does this: don't forget to "reset" your height after the change, by putting the suspension in HIGH, then lowering it back down to NORMAL)

    PS:
Looking at how flimsy and fragile everything looks, I wonder how many of us will be posting back here in a few years, bitching how things rusted to hell and fell apart, or broke b/c a squirrel looked @ the truck funny.

Naw, it still raises up in the high position and isn't topping out. I believe the wescott spacers are just for the front and the custom arm for the rear. If they added spacers to the rear they wouldn't need the custom arm.

my concern isnt regarding the "H" setting...my concern is for when the suspension cycles and actually droops down...Westcott's rear shock spacer pushes the shock a bit further down to help keep the shock within its limits, its not to add any additional lift. Im just unsure what those limits are for the oem shock. This is obviously something worth addressing if they include a spacer with their kits...I just dont know how much more their rear kit will lift above a maxed out oem lever.
