I think it's misleading to say they've been giving "false numbers forever", if you read the studies on the EPA, their testing and selection procedures are the same as any standardized industry testing. Manufactures can submit results, and the EPA selects vehicles at random to test.

It's an honor system with some pretty hefty consequences if they cheat, and thankfully there's a history of action for when they do (not to say it isn't happening, but the numbers aren't so far off that it's a clear problem)

All that said, could the EPA do more? Heck yes. Should they have the facilities to do more testing and more modern testing? also yes.

you “think”? It’s not misleading at all. Did you read the article? Or did you just decided to share your opinion instead? Lol they’ve been trying to do a better job of imitating real world driving on their dyno for decades. The EPA admits that and they’re spending another 10 million to implement two new tests to help imitate real world driving. Not saying their readings are complete garbage. But they’ve been caught being inaccurate plenty of times.

I mean, I did read it and I suspect you actually didn't because it clearly says the EPA is outsourcing those tests instead of investing $10m hence my comment saying they need more modern testing facilities.

But let's not fight here, it's not worth it :)

All I want is a standardized test that can be off or perfect as long as it's consistent!

    Don't you wish LOL
    45mph is SLOW.
Sure at 75/85 I get about 15, but 45? It is easy to get 20-21mpg

Lol yea my mistake. Don’t say it’s misleading and then say “let’s not fight here” lmao it’s been going on for decades and studies show it. On top of that, the poll here shows clearly that the EPA numbers listed on the tundra are a hit or miss. Anyway... To each their own I guess. Take care!

Yea just busting chops. Coming from a 2020 SR5 with 33 inch all terrains I never saw anything starting with a 2 haha. Im sure it would’ve done much better with some premium all seasons!

Ohhh yeah absolutely! Mine is as stock as stock can get(I added a transmission cooler) and 2wd with a campershell. I do wish I had 4wd, but I am holding out for a tacoma prime/electric now. After having this rav4 prime.. I am sold on it. I drive further than my wife, so I drive the rav4 prime daily now. Man it is fun to drive! Instant torque and I haven't bought gas since January. About 3500 miles on 1/4 of a tank of gas. I have solar so it costs nothing to charge. If they make a toyota tacoma prime.. I would buy it in a heart beat.

Drove up to Canada yesterday crossing at Lewiston Bridge. Started with full tank of gas.

First stop for bathroom break, no filling up.
    upload_2022-5-19_20-3-34.jpg

    Second stop.
    upload_2022-5-19_20-12-55.jpg

Did 325.4 miles to get to the border. Filled up at second stop, 15.215 gallons right before crossing cause Ontario gas prices is expensive.

21~ mpg. All highway, mostly doing 70-75 mph.

25.1mpg was best absolutely steady cruise mostly 60mph flat road for about 100 miles total (stock tires).

Changed to Cooper AT3 XLT 275/70/18, and struggling to get over 20mpg? I also noticed my alignment veers off to the right after getting the new tires which probably affected the mpg too. No clue why alignment got thrown off though.

Stock 22 Pro. 19.1 MPG on the second full tank. 1000 miles on the truck total, drove it on vacation this week. Mix of highway/mountain driving, mostly normal mode, some sport for kicks and giggles.

    Stock....for now
I reset my MPG Gauge as I left the dealer and have put about 250 miles of mixed Houston street traffic and highway miles and I am sitting at 18.5. Haven't done a full fill up yet but supposed to have the 32 gallon tank on mine.

I'm averaging 18+ with short trips around my small city. Little bit of highway in there. I'm not disappointed. I'm getting 5 mpg better than my last tundra. When I want to save gas i ride my motorcycle to work.

120 mile trip home from the dealer, mostly 70mph on the interstate and was 22.3mpg. Was pretty happy with that!

Had my second straight 20 mpg tank. 20.3 truck calculated and 20.9 hand calculated on the first. 20.1 truck calculated and 20.8 hand calculated on the second. Previous 5 of so fill ups were all in the 19’s. Truck is now at 7k miles…took a while but couldn’t be happier with the results.

I concur and encourage everyone to register there like we did and add the widget to your signature it is very interesting to see what everyone is doing by reading their messages. No, obviously mine isn't a Tundra (yet) it is a RAV4 Prime. I am trolling here until we get a Tundra so I am "smart" :monocle: when the time comes.

I wanted a faster vehicle so I also bought a Chevy SS... because 4 door sedans with big V8’s are hilarious.
He’s going 80 KPH or less, not 80 MPH or less.

So he’s driving around under 50 MPH, which is ridiculously slow.

I will say, with price of fuel way it is now. I have slowed down a little. But still run speed limit. Just not going be running 80 in 70 or anything like that.

Just completed a mixed run 50/50 highway and local. 358 miles on 19.1 Gallons=18.74MPG. This is running 70-80 MPH with AC on while on the interstate. Total miles just rolled over over 4500 miles. Taking on long trip next week; 1200 mile run.

Just came back from a 1200 mile round trip. Mixed highway and mountain driving @ 7500' elevation

Averaged a little over 19mpg, hand calculated, for the entire trip. Pretty happy with that with a lot of 80+ driving.
