My neighbor works at 77536. It's a Shell plant.

I live in 77584 and 77581. South of this area is still somewhat ghetto with lots of lands and trailer homes.
Hopefully that changes in the next 5 years with all the Californians moving in. We start to see more Teslas and convertible (under 90F+ heat lol) on the street these days.

77536 is where the port is at, there's tons of refinery out there.
South of Pearland is somewhat under-developed at this point, but knock on wood, give it two years and it will be all built down to highway 6 before you know it.

I still don't understand why tops are down when it is 90+F (humid, means it feels more like 110F+).... I get it when it is like 75+-80s....

I lived in Pearland when I was a kid in the 70's. Everything we did was outside, and we were always drenched in sweat. Good times, though...

I miss those simpler times, where we can play outside without worrying about going missing or the fact that a 1970 F150 was easier to work on than my homework.... just saying, lol

I ordered the two plates also, and I just ordered 8 of the Rockhard domes. Those ought to also help to prevent would-be thieves from using one of those box end auto grip type wrenches on the pentagon bolts.

Wow, it's like a cheap copper pipe cutter.

I can't see it cutting faster than a sawzall.
The stock pipes have double walls, it seems it would slow them down quite a bit..
Besides that, depending on where they cut, that tool is too big to just go around and around the pipe.

I agree that I can't see it cutting faster than a sawzall and the double wall tubing wouldn't allow that tool to work either. In regards to the tool going around and around, the handle does not, just the silver cutter/roller in the center does, kinda like a ratchet style.

All that makes sense to me. I’m no expert on such things. Just passing along what the cops supposedly told my brother.

I have great news about the AMP steps!!

I just had a customer come through with the AMP steps and I went to go check clearance for him, I noticed that the steps are slotted where the mount to the body. I loosened up the step bolts, slid it away from the truck and tightened it back up, this is a 3/16 aluminum bracket, it fit with room to spare, I think a 1/4” would fit too, but it would be close. You can see in the picture the clearance

Not sure what I am seeing. I see the bolt head on the top right side and what looks like where the black bracket has moved up a little bit. Is that what you are talking about??? Sorry a picture is worth a 1000 words. I have just missed 999 of them.

Haha, yes, the 4 bolts that hold the AMP step on can be loosened and adjusted. This picture shows that there can be clearance for a 3/16 and maybe a 1/4” Z bracket

Really shouldn't post about buying from Talon's Garage in Valhalla Shield's thread. Just saying. Way too much history including the source of the Talon's Garage design.

He just advised. Un-twist your knickers just a tad. No worries, just more of an FYI.
Hope you're happy with your plates

I’ve got a set listed in 2.5 gen marketplace for anyone who needs these asap. Florida panhandle, will travel a reasonable distance to help someone out.

Yeah, it's definitely tight under there. Someone posted it took them 10 minutes to install - as usual, it took me a bit longer. o_O
