Viper engines are silly money. And i found a better one and changed the link. Roadtrip to canada would be a fun summer vacation. I wonder how well my truck would ride with 840 lbs in the bed…

kinda think id rather spend the money on turdra suspension.

Ok, so we measured tonight and I have a 1” squat with the front as low as it goes. Which kind of sucks since it’s a brand new custom leaf pack. Is there any sort of hangar from archive which can give me an extra couple of inches?

Also, what about gas tank skids?

not a fan of blocks for the rear axle but could add a couple inches. Add a leaf would add some inches. Call whoever did the leaf pack and let them know how it turned out, maybe they can offer a solution.

There's no shackle lift. I can't remember your springs but I'm guessing Deaver because you are in SD. I would say add a fat ass overload leaf, but the reality is even if you get close to level, you will squat as soon as you put a gas tank back there. I'm on my third set of springs. :anonymous:

It was a custom 10 leaf Deaver pack spec’d for 400 lbs over stock and 2-3” of lift.

So after a week of "O-fuck" I'm confident I have my tonneau/rack setup worked out. I'm very appreciative of @shifty` for pointing out rather discretely, that I was on the road to an epic fail. Thank you brother, it would have taken me a long time to realize on my own how bad I was failing.

There is a long story about my efforts to fix my rather expensive error that I'll save for the campfire. Long story short, I mocked up the fix and I'm back on track. I need to get it operational tomorrow, so I'll post pics after.

oh no. I’d call em and tell em to fix that. You’re still spring over axle, right? I wonder if you could flip the shackle hanger?

i’ve lost the pic where the guy had a bunch of shackles daisy-chained together for extra droop, but while hunting stumbled across this:

I don't think they met those specs. Give them a call, I hear they are good to deal with. I was in the same boat and just sold them because I didn't want to play back and forth. I was lucky to get real life pics of my truck with the springs I ended up with, so it was an easy call to switch.

Well, thanks guys. I guess it's at least one more drive up to Deaver. I'll see what they say about it. Can they bend those things for more lift?

I have the Archive hangers and they don't add lift. They are stronger and allow for more droop.

Yup. I read a lot about these and talked to Eric before getting them

    Details:

-WHAT THEY DO: Noticeably improve ride quality, reduce rear sway, improve handling, improve durability and improve droop travel potential over flexible stock hangers.

-FOR Spring-Over-Axle SOA ONLY, NOT COMPATIBLE WITH SUA! SUA conversion is a very poor choice for 1g Tundra expo rigs.

-Compatible with EVERY SOA spring pack on the market.

-About 12" travel with Archive Shackleton springs/aftermarket springs, with appropriate 12" shocks, see Archive Shock Relocation

-Fits stock to fully built rigs, and does not require any other modifications to experience ride, handling, durability benefits

-Properly align parallel to leaf springs

    -These DO NOT add lift

-These do not force the leaf spring into more negative arch like shackle flips do.

it’ll be worth it to give em a call and let em know. They might be able to rebend em, or make you a new set. But i’d throw the hissiest of fits if i needed 3” and only got 1”.

Leaf springs seem to be the big mystery when they really should not be. I ate shit on that one. We need a standard measurement. I used top of the axle to the frame for what I had and what I was getting the second time around - but I had a 05 DC to compare to so it was a sure thing. The difference was close to +3", I went with TC drop shackles (-7/8") and gained about 2". Your springs were specified for +2-3 but are customs and there seems to be a lot of room for error, always on the low side. On a side note - I'm a convert. I used to think level is the way to go. It's not unless you have a cut bed pre-runner. Level means squat with a load. And bad handling with a load.
