I'm definitely not trying to kill the little man making money on cat guards..... but RCI is losing all kinds of money to the competition over this. I've been trying to wait patiently on RCI as well since I have their full skids..... but adding the little wings and testing them shouldn't take this long.

Ok so we finally have the 2nd Gen Cat Guards ready to launch! Here are some answers to your questions....

-They will be a retrofit requiring drilling if you have existing transmission skid plates and SOME skid plates going from our warehouse don't have the cat guard holes pre cut. Not the end of the world because you can drill the holes quite easily using the cat guard as a template. If you want a guaranteed "no drill" I think the aluminum version are fully converted to new inventory.

    - It is a front AND rear guard unlike others. The key to the rear cat guard is really to keep people from getting a saw to the front of that cat even though they can obviously cut behind it.

    - Product will be posted on our website by tonight or tomorrow with pricing. Bear in mind that it is a 4 piece kit.

Thanks so much and let me know what you think!

Ok here are some teaser pics.

    please note:
-The hardware on the front of the skid plate is not the real hardware. We will however supply a bracket to convert your existing Carriage bolts to a Metric Hex bolt like that of the front skid plate, otherwise it would be impossible to install/remove the skid plate due to lack of access (thats the goal!).
    - The production model there is about 1" less gap at the back of the main cat guard

@RCIoffroad So how will we know when ordering that these will be pre drilled one and not the ines coming from old inventory as you mentioned? I dont have the time or tools to drill. Going to be ordering the full aluminum set from engine to transfer case.

Definitly interested in the Cat protectors.

I have the skid plate package waiting to install (new hardware coming with my RCI sliders on order).

Maybe I'll see if I can a set added to my sliders order from April before they ship to Canada.

If you need a Canadian Guinea Pig to test them in a high Cat theft market and against the elements.....I'm your man. :canada:

Was at a Great Wolf Lodge this past couple of days for Mother’s Day and an attempt to steal my cats failed for someone. So now I am definitely interested in the cat shield. CF090946-FBA2-4B8B-9B7D-E6FDB2E322B3.jpg

It goes on the trans/t-case skid so your front skid shouldn’t matter. In other words - it won’t work on any front skid.

so let me get this straight, if I have a TRD Pro Skid plate it does not matter because this mounts further back then the TRD Skid plate so there will be a slight gap between where the TRD Pro skid ends and the RCI cat coverage begins? Anyone? RCI?

    No, they will overlap.
You have to have the RCI trans skid or purchase a new one with the new design.
Your trd front skid will remain in place.

From the pics is it me or does it look like it doesn’t cover the rear much at the transfer case. Looks like the vahalla has more coverage. I get that it prevents them from cutting the front of the rear cats. I guess they can screw you over still by cutting pipe after the rear cats?

Even if the skid plate went a foot further back they could still cut behind it ;) They cannot cut the front of it with this skid plate on, and most importantly why would they bother when they are working just as hard for half the benefit. The important thing to consider when buying these from us or anyone else is that a motivated thief can cut off the bolts that hold a skid plate on in about 5 minutes. If you give them 15 minutes, the right tools, and no fear of being caught nothing will stop it. The good news is that most thieves are neither smart, nor into hard work :D
