Had the Tundra in for service today, there were 2 recalls completed, one warranty repair, and another warranty repair that’s waiting on a part.

    Recalls completed:
    1. Reprogram parking assist ECU. Software update. Campaign 22TA04
    2. Axel (u?)bolts check - tighten bolts. Specific tech had to do this. XBB73

    Warranty completed:
    1. Wind noise coming from sunroof - replace sunroof weather strip. Failed p/n 63251-0C020

    Warranty waiting on parts:
    1. Passenger side outside mirror stopped tilting down when truck is in reverse (driver side still working) - ordered a replacement mirror and cover.

Just thought I’d let folks know about this.

had this happen on our 2018. fix that you can try

while in reverse and the mirror switch is either set L/R

move the mirror to each compass point to maximum in each direction

    move mirror back to center

turn mirror switch to off (center detent)

    put truck back into park

    turn off truck

    turn truck back on

    put into reverse

    set mirror to position

    put into park

    put into reverse

    see if that fixes it

i notice this happened with our 2018 that when you put it into reverse the mirror will ever so slightly move then nothing. somehow the mirror loses its mind and forgets the maximum distance it can move a mirror to each compass point and fail safe to not moving. doing the above seems to resets the computer.

On your tilting outside mirrors. Do you have to have the adjustment nob on driver or passenger side for it to work. Mine only works when I do that. If it's in the middle position they don't tilt down.

No, I'm asking if mine is working correctly. Mine only tilt down when in the adjustment know is on left or right and doesn't work in the middle.

When the mirror select switch is in the L or R position, the outside rear
view mirrors will automatically angle downwards when the vehicle is
reversing in order to give a better view of the ground.
To disable this function, move the mirror select switch to the neutral
    position (between L and R).
■Adjusting the mirror angle when the vehicle is reversing
With the shift lever in R, adjust the mirror angle at a desired posi-
tion. The adjusted angle will be memorized and the mirror will auto-
matically tilt to the memorized angle whenever the shift lever is
shifted to R from next time.
The memorized downward tilt position of the mirror is linked to the nor-
mal position (angle adjusted with the shift lever in other than R). There-
fore, if the normal position is changed after adjustment, the tilt position
    will also change.
When the normal position is changed, readjust the angle in reversing.

That’s a pretty involved dance. Lol

I’ll give it a try, would be cool to have it working again even if I am getting a replacement.

For everyone else’s questions, yeah, I had it set to not center position on the adjustment setting. I was working and stopped.

That axle one is s called axle survey. The tech has to check for paint and markings and also if washers are installed on the rear hub bolts and then check breakaway torque and retorque them to spec. One we did was between 60-80nm breakaway (they were all over the place) and spec is 44 foot lbs.

I had my 22 in for the PVM recall and was asked if I wanted the rear axel survey, when i asked why would I need it done the service advisor was very nondescript, Then when I asked it toyota was having an issue, and again very nondescript. Not sure why I would want to wait an additional hour for the survey If I knew there was actual work to be done instead of a survey I might have agreed to it.

It's probably because there was a case of someone rear axle falling out. The nuts backed out. Which is deadly if this happen at highway speeds. He lost his brakes.

Are these recalls, and warranty repairs specific to the Limited? The only recall I have for my 1794 is the PVM.

Can you give me more detail on the wind noise coming from your sunroof? I hear noise, but not sure what is normal or abnormal wind noise.
    Thanks!

I’m going to call my service manager today and see if they still want to order the mirror. I’m happy with my now working mirror thanks to you!
