Congrats on the new ride! I’ve been struggling with which model/config/color I want - a very tough decision - but so far I keep coming back to the Platinum 4x4 MGM LB and yours looks so sweet! Likely waiting for the ‘23 though.

Same. I was set on the Platinum, but torn between MGM and CSM. My past couple Toyotas were silver but the grey really caught my eye looking at trucks on this forum. MGM is awesome in person.

It looks cool. I like the amber.
But at the same time I have to admit these headlights belong more to the entry level and not limited.

I’m curious as to how you expect to use 4WD. Is it for the occasional snow or mud or is it likely to be frequent? I’ve been without 4WD since I bought my ‘07 Tundra new and desperately wanted it then but couldn’t afford it. Now I can buy whatever I want and like the features of the TRD OR which isn’t available on the Platinum, but are on the SR5, Limited and 1794. I just don’t want all the chrome of the 1794 though it is a beautiful truck. SO, did any of this enter into your decision or were you getting the Platinum regardless? Appreciate any feedback. Thanks.

Picked this up in March. Lucked out with the dealer having just received it a few hours before I showed up.

you can option out a limited pretty close to a platinum, only minor nice to haves are on the platinum that are not on the limited.

limited only gets 8 way power seats vs 10 way (leg extension) on platinum
limited only gets heat/vent front seats vs platinum getting front and back seats
    hud not available on limited
    sunshades not available on limited
no sequential tail lights on limited

aluminum sport pedal not available on platinum
TRD package not available on platinum
powered running boards with powered bed step not available on limited

mud guards not available on platinum (only model this applies to, why???)

there is more than that on a platinum vs limited though, I would check the spec sheet if you need to know every detail. Platinum gets real leather Lexus grade, black headliner, AVS option, additional drive modes, color match parts, and so on.

Seems like just about everything except the body is a different color on the Platinums.

only the Adaptive Variable Suspension (AVS) and the HUD is the unique part of the Advance Package on the platinum, otherwise the Load-leveling Rear Height Control Air Suspension is common of the limited package and the advanced package of the platinum.

If you get the Advanced Package you get the 5 drives modes, otherwise you get the 3 as standard.

    edit:

standard 3 modes (common to all trims including platinum) : Eco, Normal and Sport

Advanced Package (exclusive to platinum) : Eco, Comfort, Normal, Sport S, Sport S+ and Custom driving modes

also have to remember, if you get the Advanced Package on the platinum you HAVE to get the powered running boards and bed step package. toyota wont let you separate the 2 packages from each other.

those 2 combined add $3k to the price. you can get the powered running boards by itself but not the other way around.

well you could go down to a SR5 to get color match front, which i have no idea why they removed it for the platinum like it is on our 2018 platinum and gave us this junk for dark chrome surround. would have been a prefect truck otherwise.

Great looking truck mate, love that color but I agree about the wheels. Thankfully that's an easy (albeit expensive) fix!

I am looking at a platinum, I like the higher quality interior, ambient lighting, black headliner, all the other stuff, just my.02

I also want the powered steps and other stuff.

Im just waiting and watching closely the QC issues, thats about the only thing holding me back I think

Nice truck. Just what I originally wanted but then changed my mind cause it's so dark. I'd want to clean it every other day. Getting an MGM, mainly cause it's 5k lower than an available silver and blue one because it's less spec'd.

It’s new so will have to see how it holds up obviously. Noticed only minor
Body panel gap differences by the headlights. I will check it all
Oit when I wash it. No inside rattles and didn’t notice any significant wind noise. The ride is good and probably a little firm due to the off-road package. Don’t like the hump in the back floor and although the underseat storage is good. The storage on the f150 was adequate and I could put the seats up and have a full floor for lading camping equipment. Oh and the payload is 1350 lbs. seems very light. But I knew what I was getting into with these items.

That is a great looking truck. I happened to fall in to a Supersonice Red Platinum 6.5 ft bed which should be here by the end of the month. I wasn't completely sold on the red, until I saw your pics! Looks fantastic - especially with the slight lift and new rubber. Will be first on my list of mods. I am interested though in how it might affect ride quality, and wondering if I should wait to a full suspension lift once available.

I’m just resigning myself to driving an ugly truck (if/when I get a Platinum). I would spend the money to color match the front and the fender arches, but it’s already pushing my budget as it is.

You CAN absolutely get sequential tail lights on a Limited in the Limited Premium Package. Has the upgrade headlights and taillights. My Limited has the sequential tails.

The upgraded headlights with sequential turns signals/4 LED projectors are also part of this $395 option and are worth way more to me than the tails and the cost of the package.

All cleaned up. Running boards installed, new tires, window tinting and paint protection done. I’m quite pleased with how it all turned out. 1300 miles in so far and loving it.

It’s a little stiffer but not enough to worry about imo. I usually say before the lift you felt 5/10 bumps on the road. Now you feel 6/10 of the bumps.

    also, thanks!
