I have a 17 sr5 TRD off road 4x4. Last year before the TSS. I opted for the bench seat with a traditional column shifter. Unfortunately that limited me to the 26 g tank. I wanted the 38 but the other options outweighed the larger tank. I plan to find a wrecked one with a larger tank and swap it out in the next year or so.
With that said, I also have a 21 RAV4 with TSS and sort of like it. The radar cruise control is nice, until you get behind something slow and don’t realize it for a while. I turn off the lane assist, I don’t like that thing. I haven’t had any issues with the TSS otherwise.

OP the radar is up on the windshield and as others have noted can be disabled definitively from your dash menus. My Nannie’s are disabled on my 19 and the only time the radar comes into play is when I drop it on cruise control on the interstate. I don’t mind it. I don’t think a steel pipe bumper or whatever will interfere.
-38gal tank is 2016+ and is part of the “sr5 upgrade package”.

-ventilated seats are platinum and 1794 trim levels only (some members here have noted the OEM ventilation to be underwhelming). Likely a $2500 upgrade from katzskin if you found a nice SR5 or limited. Having just upgraded my seats in my sR5 to leather I can confidently say it’s worth it. Even though I only did heated, the seats are significantly more comfortable. I’ve sat in a limited and found the leather to be not as quality or comfortable but that was a brand new truck. I can’t speak for the platinum or 1794 seats.

I'd always heard the radar was up front in the grill in the logo? I believe there are some optical sensors up on the windshield.

Plan to do the same with my 2020. I wanted the front bench/column more than I wanted the 38 gallon tank.
Tough to find the Voodoo blue in the bench...

I beg to differ on the ventilated seats. They're really helpful on a hot day. Ever get into a vehicle that's been sitting in the sun, and even though you can air it out and cool it down quickly inside, the hot leather still makes your back sweat? The ventilated seats cool the seats off quickly to avoid this.

I guess if you live in the northern part of America. Ventilated seats isn't as helpful as it is in states where temperatures can go above 100°F during the summer,.

Yes true, it’s a heavy lift to fill it. Depending on method of payment, sometimes I can’t even get a full tank. About $6/gallon in my neck of the woods. But I appreciate the extra range for longer hauls.

I would love ventilated seats. Your reasoning for enjoying yours is valid. I was just making the point that if OP found an SR5 etc without them, that he might find better “cooling/ventilation” in the aftermarket arena as the OEM tundras aren’t as solid.

tl;dr - tundra ventilated seats are better than not having them, but there are possibly better alternatives aftermarket and other manufacturers have better ventilated seats than the tundra.

Yea due to what I’m seeing in Florida I’ve changed my criteria to 2016-2021 now.

Exactly what I was thinking, I’m in no rush and don’t exactly want a ffv. So if they don’t play ball I’m out.
