    He's an entrepreneur....prior CEO of Toytec. He's going to rent them out at the speedway. He owns a couple of investment houses and now his wife is opening an online womens clothing/accessory shop thing.

    If he were to get my current model, new (Long range, dual motors, AWD) he would be waiting probably until October or so

    It’ll be a one vehicle household until mine arrives. I’ll have to drive my wife’s boat (Highlander) she works from home and I do 90-95% of the time.

    I can totally relate to this, but a bit of real world experience: Don't wait too long. In 2016 I shopped, compared, and built and priced fun cars with manual transmissions and purchased in April of 2017. Mustangs, Challengers, Golf GTIs, Civics, and the WRX. Budgeting around $30-$35k I could get a V8 'Stang, Challenger, or WRX with nice options. I got the WRX Limited (top trim) with the options I wanted and nothing I didn't and paid $32K. Same it would have been for an RT Challenger that I currently want. Well guess how much that Challenger is now.... Bare bones they are going for $35-$37K and built the way I want it I'm looking at $40K minimum. That's a 30% price hike in 5 years. Wait too long and you'll have to start trimming options.

    Yep. They just did another price increase a couple of weeks back. I’m sure another is coming with the demand. You can secure it now, price is locked in and when delivery is nearby (ample notice- most times) you can decide then. Hell, I can do buy the exact same model I ordered, used with 5k on it or so and pay $70k! People who want them now will pay top dollar. So technically, you could make a small profit. If you are financing, I can email you a referral link for DCU (lowest APR I’ve found on all of the Tesla groups in the past..I think it’s 1.49%?).
