Just ordered one here in NH for $1000 below MSRP. I am not saying it just to say it either.

At the dealership this morning and saw three 2022's just delivered. Here's a few pictures and the window stickers. I can't say if they're going to add DM onto this or not or even if they're already spoken for.
But if anyone is looking , might be worth a call or email. Only the white one is listed on their website as "in transit".

White SR double cab: No sticker

Was speaking with a salesman a few weeks ago. They are marking the new Tundras up 5K. He told me that Toyota was pressuring them into raising the "market adjustment." I cannot say definitively, but that sounds like a bit of the Blarney. Hard to believe a salesman would tell a fib.

Yeah… that’s complete nonsense. Toyota doesn’t get any sort of kickback for dealerships deciding to markup their vehicles. Ultimately, the design of the markups is to combat the lost revenue of dealerships not getting as many cars to sell on the lot.

Spoke with someone at Toyota that basically said that they aren’t going to knock dealers who markup vehicles but they are also not encouraging it.

Yeah I imagine Toyota only cares if dealers are moving cars or not. If their markup is too high and people aren’t buying then Toyota may have something to say about it. Dealers are just squeezing whatever they can out of the end user, sucks.

Exactly. Dealers will say whatever they feel they need to say to justify what they are doing. To be fair, many manufactures are doing it right now. This is far from a Toyota issue.

My Dad is in the market for a new Ford Raptor and markups are STARTING around $15K right now. There's not a single dealer he has been able to find without a at least $10K in markups. Most are in the $20-30K range & people are paying it.

I just don’t understand what is giving people the want/need to spend that much on a vehicle. People sitting on a bunch of equity in their house?

Good question. I think for some, it comes down to how bad they want a vehicle. At least from what my dad was saying, Raptors have always had a bit of a markup just because inventory has never been great on them. I think for some, they are able to justify paying the markup by their trade in.

At least with me, I got $6K more for my Silverado than I paid for it brand new when I sold it but I used that "extra" money for upgrades on the new Tundra. Still didn't pay a markup. Everyone is different though. This is a very weird market & not very buyer friendly. That's for sure. This Tundra was the first time I have paid MSRP on a new vehicle.

Beaverton Toyota in Oregon is no longer below MSRP. They are now adding their Clear Coverage to every New Tundra. I texted them and this includes paint protection, wheel locks, and door cups? This adds $1,495 to the MRSP. Lame.

OP: Can you update them on the website? I couldnt figure out how to do that from cell phone. Think they have two entries that need updating.

Edit: Figured out how to update the one I entered.

Edit again: “We are still under MSRP ($1001 over invoice) on some vehicles but most models are sold at MSRP plus sometimes accessories.”

Got mine in March at Freeman Toyota, Santa Rosa, CA. Only "markup" from MSRP was 995 dollar "Stargard" anti-theft system which is of course a complete rip-off. I counted that as $1K markup.
Limited with upgraded sound, TRD OR package, special paint, mats...63K OTD (friggin CA sales tax!)

I guess the real question would be, has any dealerships who had markups stop charging for the markups?

Two of the dealerships I've been working with in the Seattle area actually increased their markups recently.
Drove by one of them yesterday, and their lot was 2/3 empty.
We're having another big vehicle shortage again.

Kendall Toyota of Eugene. Where I bought my 2018 Tacoma for thousands below most all other Oregon dealers.

Well…. They are $2,000 above msrp on non hybrid tundras and $3,000 above on hybrids. Lame. He was shocked my local dealer is below msrp.

Edit: Even higher mark up on Rav4 Prime, TRD Pros, Sienna, Supra, and out of state buyers. They were great to deal with back in December 2017. They wont get my business now.

I paid slightly over sticker for my truck at Northpark in San Antone. I also sold my first Gen last week for more than I paid for it 7 years ago. Dealer offered me 5 grand more for 21 Sienna with 16k miles on it than I paid for it new while my wife had it in getting the 15k mile service done on it. But we will keep it.

Markets crazy. Can't wait to see what changes are in store for MSRP in 2023. I'm guessing 10 plus percent. I'll have the truck I've been wanting next week. I got no regrets.

Just picked up my 22 Limited DC OR last week from Doxon Toyota in Auburn, WA for MSRP. I have a buddy who works sales there and can get anyone who wants one the same deal. Also have a 23 manual Supra on order (first in line) for no markup as well.

Just DM me if you want the hookup

Hello to all from deep in the Heart of Dixie. Newbie here.

Desperately seeking a new 1794 but just can’t bring myself to be a player in this ridiculous price gouging game these dealers are proposing!! I noticed our local dealer, Toyota of Dothan, is listed as not charging additional markup but I just spoke with a salesperson and they are in fact ripping customers off to the tune of $5K. Have no idea how to edit the listing.

Took my 14 Double Cab 4x4 TRD-Offroad (97k miles) to a local dealer this morning and was able to squeeze $23.5k out of them. No Tundras (or any new vehicles) on the lot to sell, so walked with the cash. Probably would have anyways since the last one they had sold with a $5k markup.

Took a gamble and jumped on Toyotas website's inventory search, and was able to locate almost the exact truck I wanted at a dealer an hour north of me:

22 Limited DC 4x4 in Lunar Rock with the TRD-Off road package, JBL audio, Limited Premium, Limited Power, sunroof, and heated steering wheel.

I really want a CrewMax, seeing as the new DC are even smaller than the old, but waiting 4-8 months to hope one shows up vs grabbing the DC at MSRP with ZERO markup might be gamble worth taking. Put in my $500 deposit and its supposed to land in 3 weeks.

I tried the trick to inspect the Toyota site for info, and I see it's currently in "F" status, but there is not eta line so far.
