Yeah she gained 25lbs the first month we had her.

to see her enjoy life is awesome. Her legs are getting strong finally so now she is starting to jump up on my daughters bed. She spent the first 6 months of her life in a cage so she could barely walk down the street when we first got her.

I had a dog in a previous part of life that had been abused and it wound up being a great dog. My BIL has one that was abused, and is terrifying to be around (a 90lbs Pit Bull, with a chip on its shoulder). I like dogs just fine, even though I've never thought of one as 'part of the family' (I think it's great that some folks do); but my faith in humanity takes a hit when I hear about people abusing an animal.

 

And Twizzlers, and Sour Patch Kids, and that sugar you put on cake frosting to make your molars explode...

 

Yeah this dog is very sweet and very smart. She deserved a good life and we will provide one for her. People that abuse animals are scum of the earth. One more reason I think we should reinstate the fighting arenas of old Rome

What in the hell do you feed the kid?

 

So my sister used to, not sure if she still does; but fed her cats raw chicken as well…… lots of hubbub on it not being good for them.
Anyways it’s raw chicken, the raw bones don’t hurt them and it actually makes their teeth squeaky clean!
We do this for our 30lb min pin bull dog mix, as well as the new pup who’s cane corso Sheppard and like two other things hahha, but we also gave it to dozer who was a rotty Sheppard newfi lab mix. who was 95lbs in his prime.

Momma bear buys chicken and then double bags each dogs chicken, into the freezer, and take one out for each dog the night before or in the morning(pup likes to inhale, so we’ve been taking it out early in the morning so it’s partially frozen, so hopefully it takes longer)
The best is watching him be all petite cracking his egg, he’s unsure but is all about the yoke!
It’s known as the BARF diet, look it up. We don’t follow it to strictly, but try and give them fresh stuff as much as possible.
Don’t get me started on what the boys eat!

I dunno if you'd survive in my house. There's not a single piece of candy to be found. Neither The Woman or I have much of a sweet tooth.

Now I have questions haha. Is raw food for every meal? Or does it change up or get supplemented from occasionally? Does he get fed more than once a day?.... Also, it's funny reading about the egg thing. I heard of you give a dog an egg that they would be gentle with it, almost protective of it. I haven't witnessed that myself though.

Raw food for every meal. Usually just that main meal in the morning, but he gets treats at night like broccoli stocks and carrots. But we’ve read that grain free isn’t good, they need some sort of grain, so that’s why we do oats and I think there is keenwa in there too.

yeah the first time watching it was super comical, he knows what they are because usually we just throw one in his bowl and it cracks and he licks it out.
