Are you towing or staying a street truck? If so, I'd consider them for the extra support. I have experience with them on the rear of a street Tacoma and they do make a difference. When the rear is loaded they help bring the truck level again.

If you plan on offroading, camping, going off the beaten path etc. I would skip airbags all together and look into new leaf springs from Deaver/ Alcan. You can pair them with an aftermarket bumpstop like Timbren or Durobump.

    What's your end goal?

Do you have pics of other 1st gens at the stance, rake and height you'd want to be at?

If you can do the legwork to answer the two questions I just posed to you, someone here can help you get there. If you can't be more specific about what you'd like to see in your truck, nobody here is going to give good recommendations for a goal you can't describe. At least get us to the field and draw us a rough map of where you're wanting to play.

That looks like a show truck or pavement queen with a 7-8" lift to me, owner probably has at least $3k-6k in it, is that in your budget? I can't tell what the link system is in front, but makes me think there may be something custom going on. I'd love to see more pics out of curiosity but realize it's not yours.

I see that truck and, right or wrong, feel like someone is trying to over compensate for something else lacking. No offense to whoever's truck it is. I used to see shit like this in FL all the time while still there. Sometimes the people driving were cool. Most of them were dicks with "no fat chicks" stickers on the back window etc.

Anyway, outside my realm of expertise. At least others can give you input now they know which way you're leaning, or tell you why what you want may be conflicting.

What's your budget? A lift like you posted will probably end up in the $10,000 range after new wheels and tires.

Under 2-3 inches is where you can stay without major mods and expense.

Got a ball park idea of a budget? That'll help out a lot.

I recommend driving it as is until the first time you actually bottom out and then figuring out how likely that is to happen again and how much lift you need to stop it happening.

    That looks like a leaf spring. I'm betting it's SAS'd. That's an easy $10k.

I(we) just finished my lift in April. It's a toytec 3/1 lift. The lift alone was $1600, and it's not even one of the best out there. Then I spent $1500 on new rubber. Then another $400 on UCAs, which again, aren't even the best. Plus another $1000 on new suspension parts. What I'm getting at is that this is gonna add up quick to do it right. I'd figure on $5k for 3", then add about $3k to go 6" with the RCD kit, which I don't remember if they still make. Anywho, here's mine with the toytecs and 33s:
