Wait time

Hey everyone new here from Philly. I went to the dealer yesterday and told them what I was looking for. 2022 5.5 bed CM 4x4 trd package in white or black. He said he gets a new allocation each week and I could be looking at about 4 months wait time. I sure hope he is wrong but they didn’t have any trucks on the lot.

 

Typical dealer lot in 2022 unless they’re adding huge additional dealer markups to their new vehicles.

 

Sounds about right. My grandfather put a deposit for a Red or black SR5 TRD sport premium or TRD off-road premium in February. We just got an allocation match yesterday for a black TRD sport premium. Audio package. Advance tech pack. PVM. Heated steering. Build date 5/12. Estimated delivery is in June.

I placed a deposit in mid December and got my white TRD sport premium in February. Build date 1/7. I’m also from PA. But mine was pure luck. I got an allocation 2 weeks after the deposit.

We did get an offer to buy a Double cab Limited TRD off-road package in army green in March. It was already on the lot. But declined.

 

Welcome - from Philly area as well. My work takes me all over the area and I pass multi dealerships each day. I don’t know how incorrect he is but I’ve seen trucks sitting at a few of them but they are gone in no time. Sloan in glenside just had a CM in black and it appeared to have been sold literally in a days time. They had a blue extended cab that sat for 3 days but was gone within a week. I’ll post on here if I see anything in the area.

 

Be thankful he didn’t try to sell you something he had on the lot. My “local” dealer that I purchased my tundra from has been looking for a very specific Tacoma for me. It’s just a TRD Off Road with leather seats with a manual transmission. Nothing super special. But they seem to call me at least once a month and try to sell me the leftovers that they have on the lot. Called me the other day trying to sell me a $55k TRD Pro. We’re utterly convinced that it would cost the same as the truck I’m looking for. I just told them to have a nice day lol.

 

I dealt with Sloane in Glenside and picked up my 22 Plat in Feb from a Nov allocation. Positive experience overall with them.

Good news. Just got a call from my dealer my truck is being allocated tomorrow!

I ordered a Crewmax SR5 5.5 bed with some TRD add ons and the 14in monitor. Only thing is I got the white for outside but wanted the inside dark color but they only had lite grey so I guess I have to go for it.

Contact several dealers to see if you can get on their allocation list. Good chance you could get bumped up if someone backs out of their allocation. Be open to multiple color options. My wait was cut down to 4 weeks since someone backed out and I went with my alternate choice.
