igured I might as well start my build. Bought the Truck used on 5-31-14. Come to find out at a later date that this is @Sean266 old truck.

5-27-17 Peeled of the Plasti Dip using some goo gone. Let it soak in for a few minutes and then it rubs off easily. It worked well but I have decided to have the bumpers wrapped in matte black.

    front bumper 2.jpg

6-2-17 Cut holes in rear bumper for flush mount lights I bought on Amazon. I used a grinder and a jig saw to make the holes and a drill for bolts. The template that is included makes for a tight fit. I had to enlarge the hole slightly. The wiring harness is really nice but it has to be extended. Bought the 16 gauge wire and wire conduct from O'Reillys. The kit also did not include hardware so I got my own from Lowe's.

    Test Fit Lights:

    Both sides:

Drilled holes for bolts with locking washers

This was a little ugly until I took the file to it. Bumpers are getting wrapped on Sunday then I will complete the install with more pictures.

Pictures of the bumpers wrapped..... Also got the roof and emblems done

I got the Reverse Light switch from SDHQ. Called Joey and he took care of me. Thanks @sdhq_offroad . Also got the AIP relocation kit.

Next up is the ABS guards and then I will be doing the rear dif breather mod and relocate to behind the driver side tail light.

I will also be installing the HID headlights that @rons23 sent me. Hope to get to this ASAP. Thanks Ron

I'd like to do the backup light mod as well, that's a lot cleaner than doing them under the rear bumper!

OP. Let us know how the lights turn out. I've been debating some flush pods but don't want to pay for something if it ain't gon' work. I don't have hundreds to spend on any big name stuff!

I have tested the lights and they are really bright. I will let you know how they hold up to moisture but for $50 thought it was worth a shot. I will post pictures with them on at night as well.

Cool deal. Are they true white? or do they have that weird blue tinge?

The stereo has been great. I have 2 10" subs under the rear seat. Ironically I have been having a hard time to find the exact setting I had the stereo on. When I was hooking up the rear flush mount LEDs this weekend, I disconnected the battery and it reset my stereo settings. Driving me nuts. I also have to make sure the Hypertech is still calibrated correctly.

Just got the bumpers, emblems and roof vinyl wrapped. Pictures to come tonight.

The truck was at Stevinson Toyota. The first day it was on the lot at the dealer I serviced my 4Runner and had been looking for a Tacoma. Got a great deal and it was in awesome condition. So I bought it then was lurking on the internet and found the build. Pretty cool when I realized it was my truck.

And lucky @Sean266 takes great care of his vehicles and I stumbled upon his old tundra. The wife went for the test drive and said no way can we get a Tacoma now. She wanted it more than I did and I was hesitant to buy a modded vehicle. But Sean did a great job with everything.

I'm looking forward to seeing it and see your reverse lights. I almost bought them with my gift card but i decided to go a different direction until i saw yours in person. I really want some lights but i'm debating cutting my bumper. I'm glad you did so i can decide if i want to. I'm not scared to, just nervous in case i don't want to keep them there.
