Extended Warranty

Like tunfundra, my dealer tried to sell me the warranty for over $3k. I declined it at that time…and I did ask them if I could purchase this at a later date and was also told no. The price of the warranty would have added more than $100 to my monthly payment after I dropped a significant amount down, to keep the payment lower and decrease interest. So glad wife and I went with our instincts.

Only warranty I have is what came with the truck from Toyota. After that, I have an unlimited lifetime power train warranty through dealer. Hopefully never have to use a warranty as I never have used one a single time with Toyota since 2015. Granted, this is my first tundra and coming from 2 previous Tacomas.

 

Interested in a contact for warranty as well. I declined at the dealer for my new SR5, but like many here with all of the electronics I want to get one before the factory warranty expires. Thanks!

Ok I can’t help but asking what’s all this private messaging about in relation to warranties? I didn’t purchase a warranty and never do on a new vehicle because I trade them in right before they hit 100k. But still can’t help the curious side of me

 

I am just sharing the pricing and e-mail address that was shared with me. I got mine at cost with two emails. Toyota does not allow them to advertise the pricing on open forums.

 

Makes sense honestly as before covid and our insane market dealers quite often focused making their big bucks on service and warranties

 

i just picked up my tundra today in CO and was offered $3600 10/100, dropped to $2900, said pass.
these guys were very cool and didn't push at all, but was the best they said they could do.

 

With all the known issues and the unknown issues that will continue to arise over time, paying less than 5% of the total price makes a lot of sense for a peace of mind for the next 8-10 years on bumper to bumper coverage. These platinum warranties are $0 deductibles and transferable. Then you pair this with a service plan for the next 8-10 years, it all pays for itself.

 

Not to mention what inflation will do to the cost of any repairs and maintenance over the years.

 

Exactly, 100,000 service plan for $1995. Say you go in every 5k, who’s playing less than $100 for dealership service visit?

 

i am getting an extended warranty, i just think i can get a better price than the 3k offered. even at that i think its worth it, but if i can get it for half that........

 

Did you happen to reach out to the two POC's I sent?
They might be able to do better than your local Stealership.

 

My wife just purchased a 2022 Camry XLE and with all the electronics it has, I knew I wanted to purchase a warranty. The local dealership's price for a 10 year no deductible warranty was $2600 and it wasn't through Toyota. AZTundra (thanks AZTundra) PM me the info for ??'s info. I called ?? and he is a super nice guy and great to work with. All he does is sell warranties. I purchased the Toyota Extra Care Platinum, with Zero deductible, Ten years, 100,000 miles for $1360. These warranties are through Toyota so there is no question that any Toyota dealership will honor the warranty. They have to honor the warranty. If you have all the electronics on your new truck or car you might want to think about buying this warranty.

 

the reason we leave the person(s) and dealer(s) out of posts is that if another dealer see this being posted, they can complain to Toyota USA and corporate will put a stop sale for that dealer for out of state sales. please refrain from posting contact and dealer info in open posts, go thru DM's or personal emails.

I just wanted to let everyone know ?? is a great guy and it is a very good deal. Anyway I am sorry but I did ask him. I wanted him to get the thanks and the exposure. Maybe to much exposure. as long as he is ok with it. i know on the tacoma world forums, a person/dealership got banned from out of state sales. hence i had to go find a new poc when i went to buy one for the 2018 tundra. she is great and will be buying from her again when we get a 22.

paid like 680 for a 5/84 7/75k plan since we were not keeping this 18 platinum since i already knew this was going to be a stop gap truck until the 3rd gen came out.

edit : wasnt sure on the duration being correct, but the price was correct.
