Interim recall notice from the Toyota app. It's not on Transport Canada or NHTSA yet.
Appears to be for the confetti / mardi gras / static issue we've seen on the display when backing up, mostly in the cold.

Too bad it wasn't for the wastegate actuator and random stalling.

They issues recalls when they have a fix for the issue. So more recalls will be coming when Toyota figures out how to fix some of the other issues in the 2022.

My 2022 Tundra 1794 was on QC Hold for over 3 months, then put in freight status with an estimated arrival of the first week of May, and because of this recall, back on QC Hold.
I traded in my 2021 Tundra TRD PRO to the dealership early to help them out with inventory, in exchange for a loaner. That was 7 weeks ago!

I’ll post an update when I get one. I put the deposit on it in early November 2021. It was built in early December 2021, and been on hold ever since.

    That sucks.

Add one more to the ole "It's only a cold sore", "Check is in the mail", "I'll pull out, trust me" line.

I would be pushing for some major financial consideration of some good free options before they deliver your new truck.

Why did they issue a recall for halogen headlights and not have a fix?

So wait, if my backup camera doesn't display I could crash. I've been driving for 35 years and don't know how I have been backing up without crashing all that time.

Good grief, sorry to hear that Pacer164. Can somebody please explain the inconsistencies in dealer delivery duration, makes no sense to me? Specifically in the 1794 trim or generally?!

My TRD OR Ltd arrived at the dealership last Thursday [04.28], told them I would swing by and grab it this Tuesday 05.02], and thats when they called me last Friday [04.29] to tell me that there was a STOP SALE because of this Recall. So, I have to wait until they upload the new program to the truck before I can pick it up. When might that be, no clue. Does the dealership even have the new software yet, no clue. I would be one of the '44' on this list I guess if they include Canada in the mix.

That’s unfortunate. But they should have the software available I would think. It shows remedy available and the technical instruction for the Tech what to do. They just got to plug in Techstream to see the update.

So, I am still waiting for Dealership to let me know when the Software Update is complete on this recall. It is almost a week and I am quite floored that it would be taking this long. So frustrating...I feel for you guys that have waited a month for wastegate issues to be rectified.

My dealership was able to perform the software update, plus a few other warranty items, in 3 hours. I imagine going in for the software update alone would take a lot less time.

Decided to check to see if my truck needed the recall. Guess it does. Will be calling my dealer.

This recall popped up on Toyota App briefly, then dropped off. I'm guessing they know what specific VINs were affected? Also interesting is the production period listed. It starts mid May 2021. The tundra didn't begin production until the first week of Dec 2021.

My truck is currently in the shop for a laundry list of items. I saw this recall when the truck was already there so I contacted the dealership and asked if they could take care of it since it was already in for service. They said....recall, what recall...lol. I sent them a screenshot and they are looking into it; I guess I caught them a couple days after it came out.

I have formally come to the conclusion that anything having to do with this Gen 3 is a complete and utter Cluster F.... What a black eye for Toyota. This should be costing people jobs at this point and Toyota should be making it well known of these employee adjustments.

I just called my dealer and told them I got a notice for recall. And the girl on phone looked up my truck by vin and the recall popped up. She was reading me the recall, but I already knew what it was.
Some service writers are just clueless.

may is the beginning of the fiscal year for toyota and by association the first fiscal year for the 3rd gen started in may. thats why april you see alot of incentives come out of toyota for each region to push last years inventory.

My Tundra arrived at the dealership yesterday without a prior delivery notice. My salesman rushed to get it ready for me to take delivery before the end of the day.

lol thats funny since a tech has to do the PDI before the sales person can ever think about doing anything. quite a few things need to be baselined once it arrives at a dealer prior to being sold.
