    1. Victim of turbo waste gate - replaced

    2. Parking brake malfunction - new actuator… :(

    3. Driving after actuator repair (with my young kids in the car) and suddenly can’t stop. Brake pedal pressed to the floor.

so much I love about this truck…but seriously we could have been injured…

When I couldn’t stop, we were moving slowly toward the car in front of us, really slow, and I shifted it into park.

    Wild.

Seems like cases like this would get the NTSA involved or something - maybe motivate toyota to take some action? I don't know if that agency has any teeth, but there are several complaints on their website about the turbo issue

Sorry to hear that. These trucks are stupid expensive and keep breaking. Maybe if these trucks were engineered and made in Japan this wouldn’t be happening.

We’ll have to see if the Lexus LX600 has any of these issues. Most people say not to buy the first year of a new generation. With this Tundra I’m thinking you should wait at least 3 years with all the issues going on.

That sucks OP glad you were going very very slow. Yeah a lot of the newer vehicles these days don't come with emergency brakes they come with "parking brakes" I guess manufacturers aren't worried about brake systems failures anymore. Sounds like a huge liability to me but what do I know.

"Braking Power Low. Stop in a Safe Place".

So much irony in that alarm message.

Time to drop it at the dealership and talk to a manager about alternative solutions. Plus open a case with Toyota and a complaint with the NHTSA. Brakes are definitely a safety issue that needs "all" of the attention.

I can’t believe all the issues with these things collectively, wow

it seems like they made everything electronically controlled and they have programming software problems all over . Plus build problems with doors seals etc

damn, I keep thinking ok maybe I’m ready then not so much

Exactly my thoughts. Steering and braking are two things I would prefer to be mechanically connected for emergency situations.

Sounds like the dealership didn’t bleed the brakes properly… the brake system is just a regular hydraulic one…

Did they have a reason for the brake failure? Bad acutator? Incorrect installation? That's frickin crazy...

That’s for all the comments / support.

talking to the dealer today. Will let you know what they say.

honestly…I am wondering if they accidentally damaged the brake line - there was fluid on the floor of the dealer when they moved it after I dropped it off…

Good luck, at this point if I were you I would tell them you have zero confidence in the vehicle. Then contact a lemon law attorney and see if you have a case.

I hate to see this, I really wanted to like the 3rd Gen but these trucks are not living up to Toyota’s reputation.

It seems that Toyota is operating on the same level as everyone else now. A lot of people buy Ford, GM, or FCA and have no issues and love the vehicle. Others have problem after problem and consider their vehicle to be a complete pile of shit. Never thought I’d see the day when buying a new Toyota was such a crap shoot.

    ^. This big time

I’m going to test a 6.2 at4 since at this point it’s a gamble anyway , may as well get V8 throat and other stuff

I’m still holding out hope we start to see a flow of TSBs to fix all this shit

Stupid thing still shuts off when you open the door , that was supposed to finally end I thought as well. But at this point just get the damn QC stuff done

this whole people are pulling out into traffic and the fucker dies and wind noise like crazy isn’t getting my 65-70 k right now

Come on yota, I do like the new truck mostly and want to get one but damn …

It’s crazy. You can buy an HD AT4 for what a new TRD Pro Tundra costs and have a much more capable truck. That’s another day I never thought I’d see.
