I don’t think will have this order ready by early June

The carriage bolt is a great idea, but makes installing the plates much harder. Currently you just hold a wrench on top and tighten from the bottom where access isn’t a problem. With a carriage bolt, you would need to hope to hold it on the bottom (since the holes are circular instead of a square) and tighten it from the top. This would make using power tools impossible and the install much harder and longer. Also, the nut plate would be useless and installing a TRD/PRO/RCI plate with a front skid plate would be something I would never attempt again. One of my first 2 plates I ever made I set it up for carriage bolts and it was a disaster. It was a 3/16 steel plate and he had a big front skid plate that got in the way aswell.

Yup. I used the medium Rock Domes recommended by @1lowlife. They worked perfectly!

So I've ordered a 2022 Tundra. Hoping to see it sometime before September. Cat thefts on the rise here in Canada too, even more brazen -

    https://globalnews.ca/news/8788530/brazen-catalytic-converter-theft-bc-resident-big-bill/

So I'd like to have a Cat plate ready to install when the truck arrives! I'd also like to get the Rock Dome washers on order too, as they're currently back ordered.

    @Classy63 - two questions -

    1. looking at the picture on the Valhalla website, I'm gonna guess I need to buy 4 bolt washers for the install?
    2. If I order a 1/4" Aluminum Bare plate to be delivered to Canada, should I expect to get it roughly before or after June 30? That's move day, I want to get the shipping address right. If you're not sure, I'll hold off for a few weeks.

    Appreciate all your hard work!

    FOR THOSE WITH 2022’s

The plate will be different for hybrid and non hybrid

Possible anyone has some profile pics of red shields on a black truck? Wanna see what it looks like standing from the side of the truck. I’m ready to order, just want to decide on black or red

I've been watching this thread for over a year now, going back and forth on whether I want to order these or not. When I saw Oregon was passing legislation to impose harsher penalties on the scrappers that are enabling this, I had a brief glimmer of hope. Unfortunately, the states surrounding us do not have similar legislation so thieves are simply going to those states to sell their scrap.

Recently, the A/C compressor imploded on my wife's car. It's been in the shop for over a month now waiting on a part that's on backorder. I finally took a vacation day and called virtually every Honda dealership in the USA and found my OEM compressor (has to be OEM for warranty).

After reading about Tundras being in the shop for 4 to 6 months waiting for cats, and my own experience with supply chain issues... I just can't anymore.

I finally ordered today. I hope this works.

Unless you intend to crawl under the truck daily to look at it, you most likely would not see anything at all, but if you get the red front skid from Tyler than yea, it stands out like a big angry red bird....
I have black on white, and honestly, you would not see anything at all.....unless you are looking for it.

Looking back I certainly should have ordered mine when @Classy63 started making them.
But I thought, nah, it won't happen to me.

On day 163 with the truck at the dealership..
This easily could have been avoided if I'd bought them back then..

So I purchased mine yesterday. Last night, one of my buddies that helped convince me to get it got his cats stolen. To add insult to injury, they stole his cat plate too. Not sure what brand he had, but said it looked like an angle grinder or something else took the top of the bolts. He said the bolts were still on the frame with no tops.

That's why some people went with the dome to help avoid that or slow it down. Again, it is one of "nice to have but not a must but if you/your close friend/neighbor got burned then f-ing get it" kind of thing.
I am sorry about your friend losing the cats as well as the plates.
I did read the news that people are using ropes(?) to hook to the whole cats/ exhaust and just pull with a car/van and rip the whole thing out.... need to find that article....

Found it, it was in Canada..... watch that little video, I think it may be using tie down straps or something strong enough to rip it all out and not break

The plates do not have to be removed for oil changes, regardless of whether or not you have a Fumoto valve.

Mine are done. Piece of cake without an engine skid.

The plates are awesome and I feel so much better knowing my truck is at least much more difficult of a target.

I am looking for the step by step guide for installing all three Valhalla items. (NO TRD SKID)

    1) Removing original "Paper" skid plate and installing Valhalla Skid plate
    2) installing front Valhalla Cat Plate.
    3) installing back Valhalla Cat Plate.

Most important is what sequence do you install them. Keeping in mind you can't reach the top nuts if you install out of order. (For us with big mitts for hands)

I found the minimal install pics on the web site but it did not take into account a skid plate install.
I could NOT find the skid plate instructions anywhere. Also keep in mind there are three components of the skid plate. (4 if you account for the filter door)

    Thanks,

Did you try the link I posted a few post above this one? One of they had a pretty detailed installation guide, but am not sure if that's what you are looking for.

How-to installation guides guides for Valhalla cat shields and skid plate.

After wading through links to links of links to links ..........

This is the best I was able to find for installing all three items (Skid, Front & Rear Cat plates)
It is from @3rdTundra and has outstanding instructions on a PDF.
    https://www.tundras.com/posts/2338309

Then there is a great guide on installing the Front & Rear cat plates from @CmdrD8TA.
It has a link to an off-site install guide in pdf (it is over the forum 20meg limit)
    https://www.tundras.com/posts/2249889

I remembered seeing these a while back but when I tried the search function I was inundated with results I had to wade through and was never able to find them again.

Thanks for everyone helping me find these again.
Big shout out for @3rdTundra and @CmdrD8TA for making these two great step by step guides.

Maybe @Classy63 will include, or point, to these two installation guides somewhere on the first page.

Again this is what makes these forums so valuable. Somebody has either already done it or knows someone who has.

    Thanks again.
