Random Freaky Events….?

Has this ever happened to you?

Well I need a new front emblem. The weirdest thing happened, I was driving 65mph on a highway and a stick fell from a tree in front of me and idk if it wedged against the grill or what but it literally plucked the emblem off like a bottle cap. Just the emblem, not a mark anywhere else on the grill. This all happened in 0.2 seconds.

The stick wasn’t even big, like a broom handle, and it landed right as I was driving over it and suddenly the emblem flipped over the hood, off my windshield, and I didn’t see where it went. Mind you this is a busy California highway and I went round and drove by again to look but couldn’t find it without the risk of dying.

 

Had the emblem fall off my 02 inexplicably, but was clear sunny day. Ended up buying one from @Roman

 

What a freak accident!

I know they do come off pretty easily.. that stick must of landed at the perfect spot to somehow pop it off.

If you find the replacement emblem keep us posted. I plastidipped mine currently, but kinda want a spare platinum/glossed out emblem to try.

 

That is weird. I just took my emblem off my 2014 for the first time and it wasn't that easy to pop it off. If I remember correctly the clips are in different directions to prevent it from popping out accidentally like that. Considering the fact that your truck is NEW my best guess is there was an assembly error or a defective emblem missing one or more clips. If one or more of the clips were missing or weren't hooked into the grill fully I could see how a small bump from a stick plus the wind from driving at highway speed could send the emblem flying. If you reached out to your dealer and told them the emblem just flew off on the highway they would probably order you a new one for free, but its also probably one of the cheapest parts on the truck 20$ I would imagine.
