I don't think my friend is on our Tundras forum so I'll post it up for him.
This happened yesterday early in the morning, about 4:30 am, on my friend's way to work. Stopped at a traffic light that was red and the Kia Soul didn't stop. The lady driver tried to steer right to miss the Tundra but ended up making the damage worse. As the photos show, the Kia came to rest rubber side up - shiny side down.
The good news: No major injuries from either vehicle, however, both drivers and the two children in the Kia were transported to local hospitals just to be certain that they did not have major injuries. All suffered minor bumps and bruises.

Glad everyone is okay! Looks like the Tundra might actually be fixable...?

Also, what makes it a unicorn? That it's a red long bed?

Looks like it missed the frame and rear axle; If that were my truck I'd just put a new bed on it...

    What does everyone else think?

Correct. It's an '07 DC, 4.6 liter, 8 foot bed, SR.

It's been a long day; I thought I was in the 2.5th Gen section! If the bed panel weren't peeled back I would have seen the distinctive taillight!

Okay, if that were a 2.5th Gen, I'd say fixable; Unfortunately, since it's 15 years old, I'd say totaled... :(

And wow! A long bed with a 4.6L?!?!

    Also, how many miles?

From what little details I can pick out of the photos I can see his driveshaft laying on the pavement. I cannot tell if the differential took an impact and is now misaligned.
The bed itself is not such a big deal to replace.

I just went through this shit with my Tacoma; 2010 base model with almost 150K miles but in mint condition. On Valentine's Day of all days, an excavator at a scrap metal recycling facility caused a scrap avalanche that resulted in a metal pipe smashing into the passenger side of my truck; Almost $3,000 to fix! Scrapyard's insurance picked up the tab and put me in a 2021 RAV4 for a week; Just got my truck back yesterday...

    It would be a 4.7L in a 2007, not a 4.6L

The hitch and tail frame area don’t look to healthy to me. And with the driveshaft in dire need of some Cialis, I’d say the rear axle took the hit plenty hard enough to bend it.

I seem to remember a guy from Louisiana who put a million miles on his '07 with a 4.6L...? Toyota gave him a new Tundra...

Victor Sheppard is the guys name. His co-worker passed a million in his Tundra not too long after as well. Both 4.7L Tundras.

Due to the obscene price of used vehicles, my beloved Tacoma was nowhere near totaled, and the replacement door actually came from a totaled truck...

Also, didn't the final year of 1st Gen Tundras get the 4.0L instead of the 3.4L? Maybe it was 2005 and 2006 since the 2nd Gen Taco started in 2005...?

My friends that lost the Tundra to the crash have replaced it with a 2020 DCLB, 5.7 Liter. I'm not sure yet if it is 2WD or 4WD.Resized_20220426_173817.jpg

I would think if the frame got bent, how badly, and will it ever be the same after a frame straightener massages it. If no frame damage, re-bed it!

    .

I thought those decal plates near the door's top hinge were only put on the 5.7 4x4's? If not it means that I'm going to have to look more closely at every one now as that little decal has always gotten my 4x4 envy going... :(
