2023 Sequoia TRD Pro, originally requested Lunar Rock before the color choices were posted. Now going for MGM or Solar Octane, been on the list since announcement and hoping they actually drop in 2022 as originally anticipated. Also have a reservation for Subaru Solterra for my wife, on the list for BZ4X but think we'll get the Subaru based on tax incentives left for each manufacturer

yup here on the big island in hawaii there is only 1 toyota dealership (both sides of island). People been just now getting SR5s they put the deposit on last summer! That's why there's only a few tundra on island. Hopefully the later I get mine, the better chance companies will come out with more lifts and aftermarket parts.

May I ask what’s the asking price for ceramic coating a truck?

I have seen/heard of it all over these boards but never had it…most I have had was me waxing so interested in seeing if it’s something I should look into (not to hijack the thread)

Salesman told me today he can't guarantee a delivery before the end of the year. Was told 6-8 months when I placed my deposit in early January.

I don’t know the dealership/reputation but chances are he will get a few offers (probably way over asking) to choose from…assuming they haven’t marked it up already.

It seems to range from $1-3k.

I chose the best guy in my city, certified on multiple ceramics and even works as an instructor for them. He’s one of the more expensive around because of this.

He gave me a deal because theres no other cars in his shop. Normal price would probably be $2400+ but I paid $1890 for a full coat. Paint, wheels, glass.

My trucks Midnight Metallic so its impossible to keep clean. If you have a lighter color idk if I would recommend it honestly.

i'm waiting to see if i'll stick with a pure gasser or go hybrid. have a 22 platinum in celestial silver and love it so far. i'll test drive the hybrids later this year when the hype dies down to see if i'm into the platform. we have a 13 prius plugin and when the engine kicks on you feel it, it doesn't transition so well but it's a great car and 9yrs old.

Dropped a deposit on 4/18 for CM 4x4 SR5 (Sport or OR) or Limited OR in Army Green, Lunar, Midnight Black, White, or Wind Chill. Was told could be anywhere from 3 weeks to 4-5 months before getting allocation, but with the options given, I could surpass some people on the wait list that are stuck on 1 model/1 color. Hopefully will get it before the end of summer, but I doubt it.

That is truly ludicrous. Makes me wish we had a price cap based on MSRP like Canada. There’s no world in which a Tundra is worth six figures.

    I’m waiting for:

1.) The inevitable recession to hit and cool down this idiotic car and truck market.

2.) Quality control issues to get worked out with the 3rd Gen Tundra, and see if Toyota wants to make some changes to features deficiencies with the new truck.

3.) The Lexus GX 550 reveal to decide if I even want a new Tundra, or if I’d rather get a nice SUV, or get something else.

At this point in time I’m past the “new shiny” infatuation, and judging the 3rd Gen by its merits compared to the $65,000-$70,000 it would cost to buy one equipped the way I want; I’m frankly more fond of having $65,000-$70,000 than having a new 3rd Gen Tundra. At that price there may be some vehicles I want more than having $65,000-$70,000 but the Tundra probably doesn’t make that list.

Just realize the up keep is more than a standard wax

If you click "Forums" on this site there is a section for detailing and washing your car. https://www.tundras.com/forums/detailing.66/ Lots of GREAT info about what products work best and the how to maintain.

I got mine done for 2k and have no regrets. I wash it regularly with the correct soaps and detail it with beadmmaker. Looks like glass. Better than new for a 1hr commitment.

Applying the ceramic coat is the easy part. Prep work on the body is where the time and cost is.

Agreed…and I do fair share BUT there are those long weeks/months (especially during our drizzly gray PNW winters) when it’s too darn cold and wet and depressing to do “stuff I should do” on a non-garaged truck.

So yes it is something to consider indeed.

I’m in the final days (hopefully) of waiting on a ‘22 Platinum CM 4x4 in MGM w/ advanced package. Got lucky in getting an a deposit on an allocated truck someone else released their deposit on on 3/8. It’s supposed to arrive 4/26 - 5/1. Last few days have been agonizing waiting for it to arrive at the dealer!

I'm in the Northeast and have seen them too. I could have had a Dark Green one exactly as he's talking about while I was waiting for my LR Off-Road. I have the vehicle he's waiting on except not a crewmax. Unless you're going to be having a lot of passengers in your back seat, settling for a non-crewmax will greatly increase your chances. I think the difference in size of the back seat isn't huge. I also believe the crewmax comes with the small bed size.
