Leaving Publix I didn’t put my seatbelt on. Out of the complex a shit box rolls right in front of me and dead stops. I take an evasive maneuver…so instantaneous the seatbelt, collision and lane departure alarms go off. The cab sounded like I went directly to DEFCON 9. Technology is the most best-est in the world.

Guess I don't know what Defcon 9 is? Sitting on couch with beer while getting serviced?

Glad you didn't have an accident without your seatbelt!! My Tundra saved me a few times in the snow. Not sure how I didn't smack into a few things.

Coming home from work one day where the freeway splinters off and there is always a back-up I glanced over to change lanes and a Tesla pulled into my lane and braked. Holy F&%K the truck went ape shit. It braked hard for me until I took over and 100% saved my ass from a accident that would have been 1000% my fault. Not a fan of all the new technologies but the lane-change mirror light and the auto-braking are the greatest items on the planet. Defcon 9 is perfectly put with the orange lights, the sirens, and braking definitely called for a new diaper.

Good to know the safety shit works! - Depending on jurisdiction, a cut off then brake is 100% their fault. Proving it is the challenge! It was a legit scam here yrs ago, not sure if it still is.

    Let’s see the pictures!

I say this because almost all Toyotas 2018+ with Toyota Safety Sense will use the forward facing camera in the rear view mirror assembly to take pictures of threats when detected. They are not the best quality but it’s still cool.

If you get a severe enough event, the truck will record all kinds of data. Speed, driver inputs and it takes a series of pictures. The forward radar works in conjunction with the camera. If you got all the warnings going crazy, auto braking enabled, it most likely was a big enough event to trigger a record.

Techstream software is the only way to access the data and photos however. It is all stored in the truck and can be downloaded in a few minutes. I have done it before.
