How to: Track your Tundra at the Factory

My build date was 3/30 and my window for delivery (St. Louis) is 4/19-4/25.

 

My original date was 3/5. It pushed around 5 times and the truck was built on 3/30. On the train 3/31. Arrived 4/20 at the dealer. About a month later than originally anticipated. With supply issues as they are I would expect delays.

 

How long did you wait from when you put down a deposit?

 

I placed a deposit the first week of January. About four months total.

 

I had a guy from the dealership call me back at the beginning of the month, put it down that day.

 

So close. Hopefully in the next couple days it will arrive at the dealership.

 

Nice! I got word today that mine arrived at it's final rail destination yesterday and should be here between today and Monday. Same build date too......

 

To add another data point. I put down a deposit on Feb. 22 for an SR5 TRD Sport. As of today I still have not received an allocation.

 

I’m so ready to get it. Been without a truck since March 14.

 

Don’t wait for your dealer, shop around. I gave up waiting and made calls and found an SR5 Sport 20 days out. Glad I looked.

 

Deposit mid-December. Build to occur at end of March. Pushed to 4/19. Build happened 4/19. Code switched to “F”. Still waiting for ETA to populate with the final vin. Dealer has been great. Just torture waiting.

Quick observation on prior posts-code “A” with a temp vin is “Allocation”. Can’t be assembly because I was at the “A” status for months and we know it takes about a day to actually assemble??

Not that it would work for everyone but I just looked on the Cars.com app and Autotrader and contacted every dealer within 500 miles leaving my email address and explaining what I was looking for. Then copied and pasted exactly what I was after in response to all of them when they reached out. It took about 3 weeks to find something that was allocated and not spoken for. This was after waiting 3.5 months with a deposit at my local dealer and nothing coming available.

 

Did you get your deposit back?

 

My local dealer didn't have me give them one because it's where I do all my service and they know me. I did place a $500 deposit at a different dealer when I started contacting everyone and I did get it back when I got an allocation.

 

Any luck? Mine's still in F status but they told me it arrived at the rail on the 20th.

 

I haven’t heard anything yet man. I’m hoping it’s on the truck and on the way but just hasn’t changed on here yet. Same here, arrived at the rail yard on the 20th.

@capt_beard ive tried this with my VIN and other VINs and it doesn’t work, is there any other way to use short cuts on iPhone to do this?

 

Great to see so many people getting into their trucks. Mine is still showing ETA range ending at 4/19 but status is still 'F' ... does that mean its still on the way up to Vermont even though ETA has passed a few days?

 

what website is this? all i have is the short cut script someone on here did and my vin doesn't work

 

This is what the dealership took a photo of and sent to me. They can actually see the whole process and where it’s currently at. Call your dealer and see if they will look it up for you. Also I haven’t been able to get the shortcut to work either. I used what the first person posted and a computer.

 

This doesn’t make me feel hopeful that my 4/19-4/25 is going to come through for me……

 

man I would definitely be calling your dealer and have them check their website to see exactly where it is. Mine showed arrival in East Brookfield Rail yard in Mass on the 20th.

 

My truck is finally “G” status. So I should be able to get it tomorrow. The wait is over.

 

Not a Tundra, but we just got this last Friday.

hopefully that will change for you as well. So it should get there tomorrow but I have a 48 hour shift I have to work starting tomorrow. So going to get it Thursday morning.

 

Congrats! Mine is supposed to be on truck for delivery today per the last update I got from the dealer. I need to check if it shifted to “G” status.

 

Mine shows dealer category F but doesn’t show any ETA. It has the permanent VIN. Dealer claims it arrived it Portland at the port on 3/31 but I have no way to tell.
