I did a little trimming on the bumper. Now it only rubs in reverse and turning. (which kinda pisses me off b/c my LCAs are new)

I’m just being a nervous nelly since I don’t have a bumper and I recycled my stock wheels so it’s 32.4’s or bust. Seeing that photo gives me hope I can limp on the stock front bumper for a little while.

Nervous because the solos push the wheel 1” forward.

Jason had them prep’d and ready. I think this is the final push aside from rear shocks. A few mistakes I’ll list below but I can’t think of any more work I can possibly do on this truck as far as mechanics are concerned.

    1. I think I bought a non HD starter to replace my OEM HD one. I wonder if I can send it in for refurbishment though it’s a bitch to install so I’d just be keeping it for a what if.
    2. Shoulda done big balls for LCA and BJ’s. Because BJ’s are better with big balls
    3. F’d up on corners with those ugly clears but fixing that with the OEM corner signals.
    4. If the TEQ grille shows up, I wasted a bunch on the Ivan Stewart one. Oh well. I didn’t think we would have a legit pro grille option. Should have been more patient.

all in all, not too bad. A few f’ups but that’s to be expected.

I should have taken some last trip. But it’s a little dirty. Needs a bath. She may come home by summer. That would be cool.

honestly other than the bumper and wheels and grille it’s a very stock look. All the changes are inside.

Pretty sure you can get the whole 3rd brake light assembly with lens and all. Unless it was very recently discontinued. @Tundra2 may be able to find the part number from when he replaced his whole assembly.

Think maybe you can't buy just the lens itself. Have to buy the whole assembly.

Hi all, when I was researching this I was looking to buy the body only, but I could not get one. As it was I rehabed the existing one with the metal tape! My fix was cheaper than spending over 100 bucks for a whole replacement. It's all good!

How does our 3rd brake light assembly install? Does if have a FIPG gasket or just a rubber gasket to keep water out? I should probably replace mine before they discontinue them. I've never taken mine apart and it still has the original bulbs.

I got the whole toyota 3rd light assembly somewhere in the last 2 years. I bet they are still around. They do come with a new gasket built in.

Four screws for the chmsl. Comes with sticky goopy seal. Hardest part is removing the goop from the last one.

Yeah, I wound up using some goo gone to finish the job, but the big chunks I scraped.

I also kinda f'd myself b/c in my youth I ran a sirius antenna out through the chmsl and re-gooped it. At least it doesn't leak like 3G Taco chmsl :)
