Whats up yall. Just sold my 2014 SR5 2WD and picked up a low milage 2020 TRD Pro instead of going new with the new 22. Looking to maybe level it up and put some new tires on to replace the stock ones. Any ideas???

Changing out rims or keeping what I’m guessing are the stock pro bbs rims?

If keeping the stock bbs rims 295/70/18 fit with the fox pro lift with no real issues, at most maybe remove the front mini mud flaps if it touches (everyone’s truck is a little different).

You can go 35s but may need to get different rims with around a +25offset then, would have to look at maybe new uca, and for some a cab mount chop.

for tires wildpeaks are pretty popular, aggressive but not to bulky to turn into a rubbing issue.

Welcome! The 295 ridge grapplers have been working out great for me so far. Only had them about a week though

Love the Super White paint on the PRO's. Are you looking to raise the rear to gain some rake? If so, I suggest going with shackles, +1.5 or +2.0. depends on what you plan to do.

    Welcome and congrats!

275 through 295/70 tires are reported to work well on a PRO.

I have roadmaster active suspension springs on the rear. Will give a bit of lift, as well as settling the rear suspension and helps with sag while the bed is carrying a load.

Congrats! Look at/research Coachbuilder and Westcott Designs. They both have some nice products geared towards the Pro.

295/70 R18 is a great tire size for the Pro, stock or with a slight lift.

You just wake up today and decide you want to nit pick wording that bothers you? It’s the same thing and universally used, pull the panties out and move along if it bothers you.

How did those tires effect ride quality? I test drove one with those tires and it was a much tougher ride. It’s possible they were over inflated though.

They may be universally used... However, they are not the same thing. While the rim/wheel misuse doesn't bother or "trigger" me, I can understand how it may inflame others. My trigger is the use of the word 'clip' instead of 'magazine' when talking about firearms. Drives me bat$hit. People will use them interchangeably, but they are not the same thing. A clip goes in your hair, or on your open bag of chips; not in your firearm. Unless of course you're referring to a (stripper) clip of rifle cartridges (rounds/ammunition/bullets).

Kind of like telling someone to 'ignore and move on' if they don't like a post and then doing the same thing themselves and creating even more worthless posts within a thread that we all have to read through :)

I understand your example and reasoning, but you’re also comparing a gun part to a hair part when it is explained or said incorrectly.

My using the word rim, in asking about replacing a wheel as a question, is still a part of the same item, yes as you stated a rim is the outside part of the wheel, and the center being the wheel, but the rim is still part of wheel.

So to choose to quote and be bothered by something so minor is petty, especially when my statement was at least geared towards helping the OP, versus just coming in to be a d bag and moving on.

Unless you actually own and shoot an M1 Garand;). It's amazing how some things get into culture. One thing I can say is if you use the term clip, I know you are a gun enthusiast poser, and NO you cant see or handle my guns lol.

Wheels and Rims are interchangeable and a generational and/or regional thing. My generation mostly used the term tire for the rubber and rim for the metal component and called the total package 'wheel' but the trend these days is to call the metal part wheel.

But who cares....... If this trivial stuff really bothers you, I think you have deeper troubles..... lol

You can definitely tell the difference. The ride quality is a little tougher and slightly noisier, but not enough to bother me

Thanks to you all. This seems like a really cool and helpful on line community. Once I get some duggies saved up I will looking at the Coachbuilder and the Westcott lift kits and go with some 35s on the factory wheels. Thanks guys.

Awesome truck. I just did the same thing. Test drove a few 2022 Tundras then bought a 21 TRD Pro a few weeks ago.
I’m curious though. How does the ride quality of your TRD Pro compare to the SR5 you had?

You have a name brand you recommend? Will this level it out a bit? I have a 2021 TRD Pro and the back end just looks lower, not much but enough to annoy me! lol

I just put this on my ride. I love it. I still need to get the Bora 1.5” spacers and 295/70/18 tires though. After the kit was installed I kept my 275/70/18 tires because they only have 10k miles on them. It adds 1” in the front and 1 3/4” in the back. It really helps the rigidity of the truck as well while minimizing bed bounce.

The bed liner covering doesn’t hold well either. I used it once on a rock and it tore the covering. You’re better off getting powder coated ones. That way you can use a Black colored Rustoleum spray for touch up.

Gorgeous truck, good luck with the mods to come! The red/black bed print and white are

Edit: Sorry I can't provide any ideas for you, there are plenty of other much smarter people on here for that. I just wanted to comment on the new truck. Burn rubber until it falls apart brother.

I LOVE it! I test drove several new fords and Chevys and felt the seat comfort ride quality was better on the 2020/2021 TRD Pro.

I know this might be a controversial opinion but I didn’t feel much difference in ride quality between the 2021 TRD Pro and the 2022 Limited and 2022 1794 even though the 2022 has an all new suspension that people rave about online. In fact the seats in my 21 TRD Pro are more comfortable for me personally then the seats in the 22.

It's good to hear you are loving it. I havent even really looked at the 22s. I have seen a Platinum up close but the price turned me away real quick. I will wait and see on the new generation but for now I will enjoy the 2020 Pro. Have a good one.
