Is the new platinum interior any different from the limited?

there’s a pretty big difference -at least appearance wise - on the previous gen. I can’t really tell much from the pictures

Can't speak for the whole interior, but I have noticed the cupholder area is a different layout. I really wish I had the side by side the limited has. I find the Platinum layout to be a little cumbersome.

Platinum has a blacked-out headliner if I'm remembering correctly.

    EDIT:

Yeah, Platinum has much better color matching compared to the Limited.

    Limited:

    Platinum:

So better color matching, more detailed stitching, more stitching in general (steering wheel, center console and dashboard from what I can see), more textures (on the dashboard and center console), and ambient lighting (doors, above the glovebox, below the infotainment, and the footwells).

There are quite a few differences. The center console area is different between the two. Below are pictures I took back in early November at a Tundra event of a Limited and a 1794 (same configuration as Platinum)

Platinum interior has real leather vs softex (fake leather) in the Limited. Platinum has Black leather with Blue stitching which is hard to see in photos. Looks really nice. The Platinum also has more soft touch leather on the dash and doors where the Limited has plastic.

I wonder if the cup holder / storage area by phone charger could be swapped between the two? The Platinum kinda sucks

Not sure. The cup holders are hidden with a door on the Platinum/1794. There seemed to be more storage area near the phone charger in the Limited
Here’s another view showing the cup holders

I believe you are correct. Individual milage may vary, I always use storage but have never used the cup holder cover in any vehicle .....ever, lol. Seems odd that Toyota would go through the design and manufacturing effort to have them different, particularly making a more expensive trim level less functional. Does the 1794 have the same ambient lighting as the platinum?

Platinum, 1794, and Capstone all have ambient lighting. At least according to the photos on the website.

My wife has an aversion to blue lights. Is there a way to turn off the ambient lighting? If not, I don't buy a Platinum orrrr my wife doesn't ride in the truck...

Yes, they have two brightness levels and off. But, you don't have to tell your wife if you like riding alone, lol.
