With all the excitement of the long awaited 2022 reveals and first deliveries behind us, and the ongoing discovery of the wonderful features (and also missing ones), and other idiosyncrasies/glitches, as well as other owner and production intel accumulating, I thought it might be interesting to cast a net for those of us playing the long game. If you have news on what’s coming in 2023 and beyond I’m sure there are other folks interested to read about it. Mods, if this exists elsewhere already or is too early, no worries, just let me know:)

I would love to see a heavy duty payload package. Toyota, are you reading this??? You don't offer an HD truck; at least give us a payload package that doesn't quickly force people to go to domestic HD trucks if they need more payload.

I would be fine with same truck but built the right way with actual Toyota QDR on EVERY truck, not here and there with the truck lottery

I think this was supposed to be a thread for what we're actually getting, not what we want. There are plenty of those already.

I head the front grille was getting 10% larger and now ALL trim levels would come stock with chrome accents.

Toyota also said they would go to a single turbo to reduce the failure rate by 50%.

    No word on recovery hooks.

Pricing will stay the same. So 70k for a loaded V6 but Toyota plans to offer special financing. 10 yrs at 4.5%.

They’re going to pull out all the stops in an all out effort to make the truck even uglier than it already is. Everything else stays exactly the same.

Haha well that was the intent but.....
Originally I was remembering there were some pretty Toyo-connected folks during the rollout who I thought might have interesting insights on production tweaks or option/pkg changes that happen year to year. No intent to tear the scab off the tow hook scandal of 22 lol

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder, but the despite their issues the third gen Tundras look 10x better then the previous, snub nosed versions.

Lol, to each their own. Unfortunately for you those snub nose versions will be visable on the road for another 50 yrs. Cause they are pretty much bulletproof.

Lots of vehicles are bullet proof. I don't mind seeing them on the road, just prefer the new ones.

    Too many, but not enough....
I would settle for them just letting us know what the weak spots of the truck are so we can upgrade them like aussies can do to increase payload

I've been looking into this and the most obvious part is the suspension. I'm waiting for part numbers of the hybrid to come out to verify it, but the hybrid has 405 more GVWR and in their press releases they stated the hybrid has an upgraded suspension to offset the heavier drivetrain. So I'm theorizing you just throw the hybrid suspension on a TTV6 and you get 405 more payload.

Again, just a theory. But so far from what I've come across nothing has convinced me otherwise.

Per engineer statement..when looking over the rolling chassis..Said..the hybrid will get a HD differential to handle the extra torque over the stock configuration..the rest of the chassis is the same as the non hybrid model except the actual hybrid system..so I'd like to find the part # of said diff that can handle the what 583 lbs of torque etc..

So yeah, it looks like you just transplant some hybrid parts into a TTV6 and get a nice unofficial HD Payload Package.

Would really prefer it to be official for legal reasons, but if the engineering checks out, I'll treat it as such.

It was the outside in the grass and on a concrete slab the of the rolling chassis videos before the 3rd gen was sold to the public..YT channels got to come and make videos of the rolling chassis and test drive the Tundra in Texas I believe..when the engineer made that statement over looking the color coded rolling chassis with each system a different color etc..

Some stand alone options not just option packages.

Some type of higher gvwr package even if limited to lower levels.
