What you do for a living (work, job)?

Retired now, but spent last 42 years at the ABC Television Network, Hollywood CA in the Engineering Dept.
Sports remotes, ABCNEWS, General Hospital!
It was a dream job that lasted a lifetime!

 

Life Support Technician at Kennedy Space Center, member of the International Aerospace and Machinists Union, former Aerospace Technician for Jacobs on SLS(Artemis) Program. New to the Tundra site, I don't own one yet. Currently in a dclb 12' Tacoma.

As a railroad worker myself, I can't stand the damn things. And when I meet new people, they find out what I do, and all they want to talk about is trains.

 

Used to build these Boeing 777 Trent engine mounts prior to retirement

 

Im a cleaner.
Started as a dishwasher
Moved to janitor
Then to custodian (not the same as a janitor)
Then a groundskeeper
I just like to work for myself, contract jobs or anything that involves working alone cuz people kinda suck.

 

I helped build this.

 

I work for a big orange railroad. It was cooler years ago. 10 years in hoping to get my 30.

 

Sad to see another suicide by train. Don't know how you guys deal with the PTSD.
I pulled the pin on Sept 4th 2018 and still think it sux to be you anytime I see someone having to work for a living. Too much changed in my carrier and made going to work akin to getting a tooth pulled or a colonoscopy.
Stick it out since the light at the end of the tunnel is a sweet deposit every month.

 

In this case nobody was injured, I wouldn’t post a picture of that. An old man got stuck between the main and siding and was out of his car we hit it.
Congrats on making it to retirement, I’m hoping I can make it to 30.

 

13 years in Financial Investments. Currently I am a strategy analyst. I make sure that what they're doing with your money is appropriate from a strategy and suitability standpoint. An internal police so to speak.

 

I retired last November. If you'd asked me about my retirement 2 years ago I'd have shaken my head and laughed at the possibility. Last January, I started doing some financial figuring and realized it might work. I threw in the towel in September and turned in all of my equipment on October 29th. (I gave 2 months notice and trained my replacement. He retired shortly after I did. Go figure.) That was after 32 years with my last employer and 50 years of paid labor over all. This is the longest I've been unemployed since I was 17. I'm still getting it figured out. Hang in there, retirement will be here before you know it.

 

Seems to be a decent anount of us railroaders on this board.

 

Underground heavy duty mechanic at a potash mine! Switched here after 10 yrs at a dealership for big yellow equipment and loving it

 

Got two cruise boats at work this month. 14 days to get it done. 24 hours a day 7 days a week. When this comes off another goes on within 2 days. Busy April. Here are some pics of access inserts we cut out to get machinery replaced. Much more going on. These jobs test all crafts and people working on them.

 

7 years and counting for CalTrans Highway Maintenance Crews. Did general stuff (paving, crack sealing, brush removal, etc) for 2 years then hopped over to "Bridge Crew" which I did for 4 years. This last July i started on the striping and button crew.

If they ever have "Bring an Old Idiot to Work" day, can I come watch? Dirty Jobs is one show I enjoy just because it gives us a window to see what happens backstage behind all the glitter and glory.

Yep hydro is a big part of what I touch, mostly dealing with BPA's product from a series of dams along the Columbia. What a coincidence on this forum. How do you like being a wireman for hydro?

haha. A big patch/release went out yesterday. I hope it has improved the game.

However, I am more involved with the Portal mode. We playtest that mode almost everyday and I have seen it improve since I started last month. It is crazy how much is added day over day.
I am also working on an unannounced title that is going to be awesome

 

Up until 6 months ago I sold propane and propane accessories. I also drove a red Ranger.

I then realized I was a cartoon and now work for a different energy company and am trading the Ranger on a new Tundra.
