I've done several searches for part number and have came up empty handed. Would any of you happen to know the part numbers for the JBL sail panels in the picture below? My SR5 didn't come with any and I would rather buy the JBL panels vs the Tac0tunes one.

They can accommodate up to a 1 inch tweeter.

Do these angle the tweeters towards the cab or do they point straight? Hard to tell from the pics.

Angled slightly upward and into the cab. I havent measured exactly but based off memory they appear to converge right between the two front seats at about the top of the seat back.

Thanks. Might have to swap to these. I'm losing a ton of highs on my current setup with them pointing straight across to the other side.

Nice nice I like! I’m looking at a budget system, either Alpine Type S components or Pioneer A Series Components. But you make me want to step up the the Type R Alpines lol.

I like how the kicker kit come with a woofer, a mid range and a tweeter so that you can utilize all the space. How do you like them?

I'm sure you'll be pleased no matter which direction you go. I pulled the trigger on the Kickers as the sale prices were ending and figured if I didn't like them, would return them. This was back in April of this year.
    KSS365 KS Series 6-1/2" 3-way $212.96 vs $249.99
    KSS670 KS Series 6-3/4" 2-way $297.96 vs $349.99

I too liked the idea of the 3-way and utilizing all the speaker locations. Center speaker not in use. Just figured if it was too much, I would disconnect the mids and run as 2-way with the tweeters (experimenting with the sail panel location vs dash corners). That being said, only tested the 3-way scenario and so far so good. I did have to EQ the mids (within the HU) to bring their level down as they were fatiguing. That helped a great amount. Powered by this 4 channel amp Alpine S2-A36F

This is my first go with Kicker speakers. I had Polk DB6501 components in my 2006 Tundra Double Cab and quite liked them for several years. I'm still tweaking the crossover in the HU and will dial in more so when I get a subwoofer incorporated into the system. Should be in a week or so.

Nice thanks for sharing your experience! I am wondering if tweeters at door sail location will be a good placement. After going through a car audio rabbit hole lol, I am now interested in the Sony Mobile ES 3-Way components because they have 6.5 woofer for the door, 1” tweeter for the sail and 3.5” mid range for the dash, that sounds very appealing. Will pair it with a 6 channel amp/dsp, something like the Sony XM-GS6DP and a powered subwoofer.

I initially just wanted to upgrade the head unit (getting either the pioneer 3050nex or alpine 709) for CarPlay then boom, my terrible shopping itch fired lol.

Decisions, decisions. 2-way or 3-way. Mid tier or budget build on the speakers!

Question, how did you manage to fit those Kickers into those sail panels? Seems like the tweeters are a little bigger than the supplied bracket

Yes, a tad larger than the opening for sure. I wish I'd taken a picture afterwards. It was snug but forced them in and made a strap to help secure. Fastened with the supplied screws.tweeter sail panel.jpg
Second thought, I "think" the tweeter housing was still used!? o_O either way, was able to secure with a strap. Hot glue doesn't hurt as well!

I tried to mount my Focal tweeters behind the door sail screen.
It didn't quite match up so I cut the screen out and mounted from the front.

Thats my pic in the OP.:eek2:

I just installed infinity kappa 753t tweets in the sail panels. Fit perfectly. Also, I know some may disagree but I also put some tweets in like those in some of the pics. However, when installed they are aimed at a funny angle. I put the infinity tweets in the oem brackets and they are aimed nicely across the dash. When you cut them in they are aimed down slightly towards the dash.
You can get the infinity kappa 6.5 component set and then add the infinity kappa 203s and the entire set up fits like a glove into the stock locations and sounds great. Running them active will make them even better as you have more control for eq, time alignment and level matching if you have a dsp. But even if you don’t have a dsp running them with a 6 channel amps will make a huge difference.

don’t worry about the way the tweets “look” when they are installed. They are aimed properly with the stock brackets.

Are you selling them? If so, what are you looking to get for them? Thanks
