What did you use to paint them and how are you attaching them?...I did the same to mine and used plast-i-dip and jb weld to reinstall, I was in a rush and probably missed a few places on the reattaching.

Ended up using contact cement. These are the daughter and she picked the paint which is that fluorescent stuff that has little pigment in there!! (It is not like regular paint)!. I cleaned them and used an off white primer, then proceeded to add lite coats of this stuff. After all done she went to go get another can and they do not make this fluorescent orange anymore and could not find any anywhere on the innerweb. I am about doing things as best I could and I wanted to touch one spot up but it is there for good now!!:)

Used contact cement on my first. It was a chore to get anything to stick to those strips. In fact I bet I could pull them off and the cement could be rubbed off too?? Those silver strips are very a strange type of coating/plastic!!:)

Swapped grille surrounds and bulge. Eventually the bumper ends will be done but for now they help bring the insert, badges and door handles together.

Cashed in my credit card reward points for a K&N intake before their price hike next month. Also threw my TRD airflow accelerator in while I had it all apart. The butt dyno isn’t showing too much in the way of horsepower gains, but I know she can breathe better now at least.

Gave it good wash, no wax this time, too much direct sunlight for all that. I also let my hose spray the tonneau for about 10 mins (simulated rain) and it was dry as a bone under that bad boy.

You should of cashed them in for a proper engine detail. :anonymous:

Although with the amount of dust you seem to suck up, maybe a snorkel would of been better.

That all happened at the OHV park :D
I detailed the truck today but was too bushed by the end of it to get the engine bay. Maybe next time lol

Better man than me. I'm nervous when it comes to cleaning the engine bay. When I need it done I'll probably take it to a fancy detail shop and have it done.

Had a ceramic coat done and I detail it regularly (correctly), but the engine is intimidating.

I’m really cautious in the engine bay area. A buddy of mine cleaned his pretty aggressively and the truck never ran right after that. He never could figure out what component he got just a little to wet, and ended up selling the truck for a pretty big loss. I think about that every time I get water anywhere near the engine

Well I started the process of chrome delete. First I was planning to have all the chrome wrapped at a local shop but the quote was 1200 and 2 days work. So I decided it is going to be PlastiDip. Yesterday the emblems were done and today the rear bumper. I think I'm happy with the results. The front will be posted once I get to it. Here are some pics I thought I'd share.

you just peel the plasti-dip off of the painted part. It naturally “cuts” or separates at the emblem for a clean line.

Plasti Dip is basically a rattle can spray paint that once dries (7 coats) will for like a skin. As you see I taped about an inch away from the emblems so it gives something to peel off. The inside pieces are carefully peeled using a toothpick. I was hesitant to do this thinking it was going to be harder than the videos show but it was very simple. The best advice I can give is make sure you have 7+ coats or it is a pain to peel.

    Here is an example: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TANmaYUvdW0&t=302s

Check the build link in my signature.
You would need to essentially put a relay inside each door and wire it up with a battery feed and passing the fold signal from the mirror ecu in each door to the mirror in that door (the switch you have is sending signals to an ecu in each door, not direct power to the mirror)

I dont think ima go black. I like radiant red and impulse red. I like the idea of "stealth" badges. Theyll be just a lil different tone than the barcelona red truck.

Playing with side mirrors switch. Made holes to each button, added glue and paint. Then placed some LEDs below each button. Work in progress. Let's see:fingerscrossed:.
