Thanks for this info this is great!

Have any of you had a vehicle put in "QC Hold"? I placed a deposit on a Highlander Hybrid for my wife about three weeks ago and it was set to arrive over this past weekend but on Friday I got a call from the salesman telling that Toyota had placed a hold on it. The salesman wasn't able to explain why it occurred; he didn't seem to know.

Yes, Reliable Toyota in Springfield. Hope it all works out for ya and you get your new truck soon! It's looking like it's still going to be about 2 months for me.

Oh yeah. Right from the carrier straight into the service bay. Never saw the lot. Picked it up yesterday. I really have to say the guys at Independence Toyota in Hazelton, PA are straight up guys. Not only are they not gouging people, but are amazingly helpful. My salesman Marc texted my this picture about 8:30-ish (he does not start until 9 and was there to check on my truck). We set up a time to do the deal and get the truck for 11:30. Well, long story short, I was there until 2:30 with them showing me the truck and how it all worked. There was a gentleman there who I think is the GM (sits in the offices with one of the sales managers). He's a big Tundra guy who has 23 years in with them. He actually took me through the truck showing me every fault and problem being discussed with the new model and what he thinks about it. He's got one of these himself and access to all the TSB's and staff. His take is Toyota will most likely address these issues with TSB's as opposed to recalls. It surprised me that he showed me all the issues first hand. He's showing me the weather stripping that will eventually give me issues and thinks Toyota will have to replace most of it.

He then spent another 2 hours setting up my profile, Toyota owner's account, updating the software on the truck, my connectivity to the truck, carplay, and that crazy digital rearview mirror that floored me and all those crazy camera panoramic views. He then told me if I needed help or had issues to call him directly. Can't get any better than that.

Bottom line is I'd be hard pressed to go anywhere else for another vehicle. If you live within 50 or 60 miles of Hazleton, PA these guys are absolutely worth a call. He says they're on the forums, but I'm not sure if he's on this one. If you read this, Thanks to all of you. Its a beautiful truck, you've alleviated many of my misgivings and fears.

I hope this doesn't sound like a commercial, but it was by far the best car buying experience I've ever had or hope to have. There ARE good dealers out there.

Hoping so. My dealer just told me it says 4/19 to 4/25 but I should plan on it being the back end of that.

Could I get some assistance tracking VIN: 5TFMA5AB1NX08C402? I'm in the Southeast so that may be why I'm not having any luck :(

contact the dealership for the permanent vin. The C in the last 6 makes it a temporary VIN. Had the same thing happen to me & once I got the real one, I was able to track it.

Ugh......I'm resigned to the fact that it's probably going to be May. I don't believe the 19-25th estimate.

Should be pretty accurate unless there’s a QC hold. Hang in there! It’s worth the wait

I put a deposit on a 1794 early December that had already been built and allocated. Sat in a QC hold until last week and finally in freight. I would expect a few months wait, probably not as long as you’d wait for a Tundra.

    Wow that's sharp!

One thing I can tell you is the electronics have so many little features it takes a while to play with the radio and all the camera views!!

    Good Luck with it!!!

Thanks! Yeah, I’m sure there’s going to be quite a bit new to learn on this thing.

as soon as I get back to Texas, the new wheels & tires are going on. Already have the chrome delete pieces for the back bumper. Just need to figure out how I want to handle the front mustache, etc. that’s going to be the challenge!

Sweet, thanks for the info! I've heard that it shrinks to a three day window and then lands but just wondering if I have any hope since mine is still in the longer window. Really hoping to be able to pick it up this week. Yesterday @scape said his was 18-23rd so wondering if it held that same timeline today.

Mine build date pushed several times. Delivery date was originally set for around the 25th. It moved up a week, then back to the original week and then up a couple days. Still no confirmation from my salesman that the truck is there so I am waiting to here.

Thanks, hopefully you get word soon. I know the status changed to "G", but does the ETA still show 18-23rd?

Yes, the dealer screen still shows that the truck hasn't even been put on ground transportation yet (shows it should have been on truck for delivery the 17th). Still shows 4/18-4/23 for delivery. I refreshed after lunch and it still shows a "G" status. I'm tempted to call the dealer...

My ETA window shrunk to the 2-3 window, which ended on Saturday. The website showed “G” on Friday. It is Tuesday and mine has not arrived at the dealer yet…the GM just updated me this morning. It appears the “G” means off of the rail car and onto ground transport. That is when the dealer said it was supposed to be loaded on the carrier, from the rail car. My dealer also said they cannot deliver the vehicle to a customer that is dropped off to them after 2 pm. But, it should be here any time now.

Bingo! Wish I had waited two more minutes to read your post. Mine was loaded on a truck today the dealer just told me. So, two to three days for delivery he said. Interesting that it takes that long to go 100 miles, but glad to know its whereabouts.

LOL, I guess the dealer didn't like me knowing what I know so my VIN no longer works for this. I tried with another of the VIN's listed from their website and it still works for that truck. Unless, once the truck hits G is just drops off. Either way I hope I'm 24-48 hours out.

Interesting.......I'd think it would be tough for a dealership to get it removed from the actual Toyota website that quick over something like this. Wondering if it just drops off once it's on ground transport.......
