Retrax released their aluminum and composite options for sale on their website today. Happy to have mine on the way.

Which one did you order, and what made you decide on that one? Thanks for any guidance...

If it helps you, or anyone else - here was my criteria/thoughts:

Looked at Peragon, Truxedo and Retrax options as most compelling for overall quality and resilience against weather as I'd be using summer through winter in Colorado.

Peragon was high on the list for ease of removal, folding and high reviews BUT is months out from delivering to market, as they said, so that's that. Truxedo was an option but wasn't sold on their t-slot rail options and limited what would fit properly. Retrax won for high reviews and compatibility with Thule, Yakima, KB Voodoo etc for rack options.

Specifically went for the polycarbonite RetraxOne XR option resilience to scratching and potential metal rattles [my worry, not per any review]. Don't want auto-retracting for more to break, but seems nice.

    https://retrax.com/retraxone-xr/2022/toyota/tundra

Still deciding on what rack to put above it.

Hey all, first time posting here. Just a quick note for those of you who purchased or are looking at the RetraxOne XR, they have not entered production yet. In fact, they have not even received the materials needed to produce them. I purchased one from Realtruck.com on 1 April for my 2022 Platinum long bed. My shipping got pushed to the right three separate times. Each time, I reached out to Realtruck and they fed me the same line "we aren't the manufacturer so we can only tell you when they said it will ship". So two hours ago, I contacted Retrax directly and asked what the problem was seeing as they are saying on their website right now, that particular bed cover ships in 3 business days. I asked them straight up if the cover was in production yet. They initially would only tell me they plan to ship end of April. I kept pressing the issue based on the discrepancy on shipping times they were advertising. They finally admitted they don't have materials yet and they are not in production, but hope to be by the end of April. I cannot speak to the other models or bed lengths, but they are very clearly not being transparent and they are falsely advertising shipping times for an item that isn't even in production. My biggest concern is if they aren't in production yet, the first ones hitting the front porch are going to be full of issues.........like some 2022 Tundras I have seen on the board, lol.

Wow. Doesn't give me a warm and fuzzy feelings about either RealTruck or Retrax... but, in all fairness, almost every site I've been on will let you put one in the cart and order covers that apparently aren't yet available.

Yeah, wasn't happy. I've used Realtruck a ton over the years, but never for a new year model item. Definitely a shady business practice by Retrax to say "ships in 3 business days" when they know they can't even build them. I am still keeping my order in because I have used tri-folds, soft folds, and roll-ups and hate the lack of flexibility/durability/security of all of them. I never desired the loss of a foot of bed space for a retractable, but now that I have a 6.5 foot bed, I can live with it.

Not sure, but if you can find a rack with t-slot base, they will work on the "soon" to enter production RetraxOne XR.

I am using a rack off a 2005 tundra that I plan to modify.. unfortunately it would sit halfway into the bed rails so I planned to cut it so it doesnt interfere with the bed rail space. Hoping to find a tonneau cover that can sit a bit lower than the bed rails.

Agree, but only at the top of the bed... can still load lumber, plywood, ladders, etc all the way to the front on the floor of the bed. I previously has an Extang tri-fold on my 2009 for over 12 years... can probably count on one hand the times I took it completely off to use the whole 5'5" bed. Lots to consider for sure.

I heard a couple years ago that Lomax makes the low profile WeatherTech Tonneau covers.

Do you have any idea if KB Voodoo Crossbars would work with that? Any way you could post a pic of the inside of the bed where the tonneau connects to the bedside rails?

Edit: Bison doesn’t ship to the USA yet so nvm.

I just looked through our data on that cover. We have mixed reviews with that one, it seems like it is difficult to work with, regarding our bars.

I don't have the oem cargo lights on mine, am definitly taking a liking to this. Are the integrated lights pretty good? Are they battery powered? Also the website only has the 5'7" or 6'7" is that just an error from the company or did it fit true to size?

like it won’t open? Or it won’t mount to the truck with the crossbars? I’m not worried about opening it when the bars are on the truck.

With some truck the bars are difficult to install with that cover. If you want to shoot us a couple pics on your truck, we can take a closer look.

Weathertech cover is on, looks great IMHO...haven't leak tested yet though...

Quick turnaround with shipping, ordered thursday, arrived sunday. Install was fairly easy, about an hour by myself. I do have the factory rail system which you can utilize to hold the clamps so make sure you pick the right version when ordering.

You do get special install instructions when using the factory rails, not the most verbose but good enough.

The weirdest part was that they provided two small seal strips for the gap between the bedrail cover and bulkhead, you do have to cut to fit. Glad they thought of that, cause I probably would not have. Missed a before photo but this is where they block water from coming in; gonna watch this area closely.

Never had a Lomax, however they look very similar from what i've seen online (someone mentioned that they might make the weathertech product).

Already received another delay notice from Realtruck for the MX4, pushed to 5/3-5/9. From customer service, "The BAKFlip MX4 Tonneau Cover you ordered has a minimum allowance of 20 business days to have all orders processed, made, and shipped. We apologize if this information was not made readily available to you upon the time of order." Expecting further delay, so went ahead and cancelled, ordered the same cover from a local dealership. Have more faith in Toyota to be candid about the delivery timeframe.

I ordered the Bakflip F1 March 31 from Real Truck. I received the third delay email today, which is said to be May 11- 16. It seems I get an email every week. This is the longest delay yet.
