Are you lifted high enough to do either, or trying to decide?

I don't have 37's, but from what I've read on here the guys who go to 4.88's generally see less downshifting and overall better get up n go. @1UPPER, @Spvrtan and @papasmurf are a few of the guys who run 37's on this site.

37s with stock gears will not harm your truck. You will lose power. Up to you if you are willing to deal with the power loss.

37s and 4.88 will bring your truck back to stock ratio. So if you like how the truck feels with 32s and 4.30 gears, then that is how 37s and 4.88s will feel

After having 4.88s installed now with 37s I definitely notice an improvement at highway speeds. My truck gets to highway speeds faster without shifting between 5 & 6th gear as much.

You'll want to regear for sure..

Stock gears on 37's makes the truck feel like there's an extra 1000 lbs in the bed everywhere you go.

I'm running stock gears with 37" no issues but I also have a TRD Supercharger installed so my opinion isn't really that relevant.

@dirtydeeds is spot on. 4.88s need to happen. He has the best price I could find and is super helpful too! I just did a blower also...everyone should have them. 37s on stock gears were ok for flat roads with no load in bed or truck with the wind pushing you.

Pay to play. Do 37s do gears.

I'm loving my new 4.88s and LSD with the 37". I'm still taking it easy for the initial break in period but I notice it's a big difference. IMG_8242.jpg

    I wouldn't go over 35" tires without re-gearing.

I ran Toyo 37's on my last truck and had 3:42's. It ran ok too and helped cut down on tire wear r/t spinning but then again it was a modified Cummins. You can get by with 37's and a stock 5.7 with 4:30's but 4:88 would be better and if you plan on 40's later you may as well go with 5:13's. I ran 33's on my supercharged Tundra and it was perfect as long as you didn't floor it from a standstill.

Unfortunately they only make 4.88 gears for Tundra.

    I would run 4.88 on 33's. Much less 35's or 37's.

35.4" on mine with the SC, I do notice a difference from stock. But going to 4.88 would really put me up much higher than I want to run the RPM band down the highway with 35's

lower rpm causes a steeper throttle position. Steeper throttle position is sensed as more load by the ecu.

In other words, you're better off with slightly higher rpm, that you are with slightly more throttle position.

37 typically come in 12.5" or 13.5" wide. I'm running 13.5" because my wheels are 12" wide with a -51 offset. I wanted the extra side wall protection since I'm running a 12" wide rim. What size rim are you thinking of running? What size lift are you looking at doing?

You can clear a 37". I'm running the same size lift with a bigger offset and wider rim. You may need to have your body mounts shaved and probably need to shave some of the inner fender to push the fender guards more forward. It's not a big deal but some people do not want to cut their stock body mounts. There are several companies who sell the body mount steel trim pcs. So you just need to cut the corner and weld the steel plate and then repaint it with a high gloss black. Here is a link to the plates for the body mounts.

Before the body mount had been cut I did rub a little when I would reverse with the tires fully cranked. After having the body mounts trimmed I don't rub at all.

On the highway the transmission keeps going back and forth from 6th to 5th gear. It is really annoying. That's also a lot of wear on the trans over time. With tires over 35" changing gears is a must. My truck drives so much better with the 4.88s.
