I have 285/65R18 on my truck. They stick out the sides so I get to wash my truck a lot. I like them but I tend to float on the snow so I also haul around 200 lbs of wood stove pellets.

Just got these installed. 305/70/17 Toyo AT3 on 17x8.5 Titan 7s, +5 offset. Pro suspension with a +1 shackle, so a 2 inch lift up front and .625 inch lift in back. BMC and some liner chopping.

How do you like those Titan7’s? I was just revisiting them yesterday after thinking about ways to lighten up my truck a little.

I bought them specifically because of their light weight. I replaced 20 inch Method NVs on 305/55/20 KO2s. Those wheels were 37 lbs and the tires were 61 lbs, so 98 lbs total per corner. The Titan 7s are 19.5 lbs and the AT3s are 63 lbs, so about 83 lbs total. However, the overall diameter of the wheels and tires went up about an inch, from 33 to 34 inches.

I wondered how it would feel going up an inch in size but losing 15 lbs per corner. It's a little lighter on its feet, not as big of a difference as I had hoped. But I've driven a supercharged Tundra that was not regeared sitting on 18 inch Method NVs and 35s, and I swear it felt like such a slug. It was almost as if the supercharger and 35s cancelled each other out. So yes, the lighter wheels did make a noticeable difference, enough to counteract the size increase.

Looks great! Going with same size and probably same tire as you- ready for BMC... Im 0 offset wheels- approximately how much space from actual metal bumper do you have after you chopped? Wondering if I ned to add bumper shims as well.

I barely chopped plastic at the bottom but it still rubs at full lock. I'm sure the bumper spacers will help. It's a big tire, only 1/2 inch smaller in diameter than a 35 (most are 34.5), so it's close to the body mount as well even after the BMC.

Thanks. Guess when its time Ill shim bumper and do a BMC- liner is already pushed in. I'm on 295/70/17 now (33s); do you notice an increase in "gear hinting" with the increased diameter? I have Method 701s which are heavier than the wheels you are running.

No but I've got 5.29 gears. That made a big difference.

I went from stock 33s to the 305/70 17. Ive been on them about a year now. I have one gradual rise on my commute home at 45mph where I notice the 'gear hunting' issue I've never thought it was bothersome and I experience this everyday. It's just an adjustment and being in tune with the truck at new intervals.

About a 1000 miles on these so far. Not bad, but I like the KO2s better on the freeway. Love the look though!
