Hey everyone I have the tundra with the massive shift lever. Anyone know if it’s possible to shorten the throw? Gets in the way more than not. Any ideas? Thanks!

Easiest thing to do would be to swap in a shorter handle like a T or ball vs the long 5-6inch shifter handle on the stock trucks.

Yea I could do that. But what about the shifting knob will I have to get rid of that? Is it possible to wire it into a switch per say?

I don't think the shifter shaft is disproportionate but most definitely the stock handle falls into that category. Here's mine

So this is my ultimate dellima. I have a expedition essentials ram mount that holds all my accessories. I attached some photos. I cant use half of the mount because the shifter is so long. it touches my phone when I put into drive (I know first world problems). But it would be nice if they made a shorter shifter so i can use the mount to its full potential.

Other than cutting it, taking some of that metal out, and re-welding the handle back on, not much else you can do.

Especially if you wanna keep all that gear where it is

After seeing it I think its way too long anyway. Knob should be where that elbow is. Is that the tow/haul button on the shaft? I dont think removing and cutting the shaft would be too difficult, relocating the switch might be.

    Blown Engine.....
Only thing you can do is carefully bend the lever down and more forward ever so slightly.....
You will have to have someone or something lock the stalk in place at the column while you dangle from the lever like a monkey.
You need the Tow/Haul button on the end and the gear selector (+/-) buttons for when you want to scoot.

Christ, that damn thing is about in the passenger seat.

Maybe I'm not thinking this thru, but it seems like you could remove the electronics, mount them elsewhere, perhaps using a different style switch or button, then cut the shaft down to length.

I don't think relocating those switches would be much different than relocating any other switch.

Hell, cut the wires and shaft, take a section out, resplice, re-attach shaft end.

Yea that’s what I was thinking as well. Could prolly splice it into a switch assembly but then I loose the go fast buttons. I could cut it and re weld it. Prolly the easiest route in my head. Thanks everyone!
