I tried searching the forum and reading the manual however I cannot find info related to setting a auto lock on the 2022 Tundra. I had a 2018 Tundra and if I remember correctly, you could set the truck to auto lock after 30-60 seconds of the truck being turned off. I think the setting was set through the radio head unit.

Is there a specific way to turn on this security feature. For whatever reason, if I leave the truck unlocked, it never locks by itself. Not even after an extended amount of time.

The paragraph that he's highlighted only pertains to if you've hit the unlock button on the fob and then don't open the door. I think you're asking about it auto locking after you get out of the truck?

Hmm. I didn't even know that was an option on the previous gen Tundra. Interesting.

Honestly it may not have been. I was pretty sure it was a setting that you could set within the radio head unit under vehicle settings. But I don't remember 100%.

I don’t think that function exists either. I think the door doesn’t automatically lock if you open and close it.

I just looked again thoroughly through the settings and I think you are right. Seems like a missed opportunity for a nice security setting. I forget to lock my truck quite a bit.

The Toyota app will send you a reminder if the doors a left unlocked and allow you to lock it via the app.

To auto lock feature is not available on our 2021 Tundra. I was hoping it would be available on the 2022, a simple software update should add that feature.

there has never been a function of auto locking the doors after being unlocked and a door was opened in current or previous toyota's across any model.

well dont keep anything of value in your vehicle if you live in a decent sized city. if you are absent minded enough to forget all the time, you will learn pretty quickly to start locking your doors.

I was just wondering about this myself and found this thread... I also don't like the absence of this feature. On my 2016 Corvette there is a setting to auto lock the doors, not on a time interval time, but as the key loses communications with the system as you walk away. Works every time. Toyota should be able to implement something like that in software. You would think.

On my Tacoma I have an aftermarket DEI Clifford system and that has an auto lock option that does work on a time interval. 20 seconds after you shut the last door it gives you a chirp. 10 seconds later it locks. That's how I have had my DEI systems set up since I have had them in my cars since 1994. Don't leave your keys inside.

The Auto Relock feature is there, just buried in the settings. It doesn't function like your Vette, but at least if you accidentally unlock the truck, it will relock after xxx seconds when a door is not opened but the truck was unlocked via the remote. Here's a link to a YouTube video that goes over the Auto Relock feature.

Excellent, thanks. But the video gives me a little buyer's remorse that I didn't get the memory functions in my highly opted SR5. Although it isn't all that important in this vehicle as entry and exit aren't really impaired much and the seat adjusts easily and quickly when needed. Would have helped to have the electronic steering column to raise and return the steering wheel, however. Vette has all that in its mid grade package... and it really needs it.

I don't think you're missing too much. I have memory seats although do not have the digital dash / telescoping steering wheel. I disabled the seat slide for entry / exit because sometimes it decides to just not work and stay in the exit position... A little annoying, but not worth a trip to the dealer. I don't really like the feature in the truck anyhow, so I just disabled it. If it was in a sports car, I'd be using it for sure!

FWIW I found a calibration procedure for the memory seats that is supposed to be performed at Port or at the dealer. Haven't got around to doing it but one of these days i'll give it a shot. This would likely solve the issue at hand.
