I was running Toyota when it was the cheapest 0W-20 available in my area. Nowadays Motomaster synthetic (Shell) from Crappy Tire is my usual grab when it’s on sale. No issues and can’t beat the price.

Valvoline last oil change. I think before that it had Mobil 1 in it. Just bought Toyota brand for this change.

Any of the name brand synthetics, including Super Tech or Kirkland, are fine though. I have been using the Valvoline lately for two reasons: 1) $5 rebate from Valvoline per 5 quart jug, & 2) the Valvoline 5 quart jug design allows for smooth pouring. No mess, and no funnel required.

I like "high mileage" oils in the 5-30 flavor, always full synthetics. But I vary on brand, just for kicks. Was a big Castrol fan fan continuously for 30 yrs then started trying others like Mobil 1 Extended High mileage, though I can't make myself wait any longer than 5K OCIs, haha. I am sure Valvoline, Pennzoil and probably even Wally World (full synth high mileage) is very satisfactory.

What I have noticed, is my local wally world has had a very poor selection of name brand oils for the last 6 months or so, wonder what's up with that? Anyone else?

Oh I did see of all places, Lowes sells motor oil, at a decent, not great but decent prices unlike say autozone that want to gouge us...

I did a couple free services with the dealership but didn't like not knowing exactly what oil is going in my supercharged motor. I then bought the metal cap housing and a Motivx kit. Now I change the oil every 5k and the TRD filter cartridge every 10k by myself and use the Mobile 1 0w20 full synthetic. It's pricey but I put 6-8k miles a year and I like knowing everything is fresh and optimal even if it technically is a little overkill. I did the 5k interval with my Land cruiser and got 446k miles with no engine issues, so that's proof enough that good fresh oil goes a long way.

Been using Kirkland since new. Every 5k miles, did not take the free changes from Toyota, too many horror stories from dealers…

I use Amsoil in my 2005 Tundra.
Oil lasts 25k miles and filter is 15k. No problems ever.

Have you seen the price of Walmart brand oil? I laughed at 27.00 for a 5qt Supertech.
