Huh. Well, maybe I'm wrong about the longevity then. Still can't justify the cost. The single biggest thing for me is that I don't need to have the fastest thing there is, but whatever I have needs to have some soul. The mechanical clatter and roar of an ICE just does something for me that I don't think a Tesla could ever replicate. They are fast AF, and I would imaging it's a similar feeling to the fast launch roller coasters. Stupid fast acceleration, but it won't ever feel the same as rowing through gears in a 300+ HP car. I'm just too old for the new stuff to trip my trigger, I guess.

You live in southern AZ. You're brain has cooked and it shows. It's the Chevy interior that would keep me out of a 'Vette. That, and I think they looked better a in the previous 2 generations. Hell, the new one isn't even available with a manual transmission.

It's actually sad to see it has dwindled so much. It's like watching a good friend on life support. Sadder still, I decided to highlight the ones I would/can consider buying personally, so it's an even smaller list. How about you guys? Any you would or wouldn't get?

 

You hate Ford too? Why a wrangler but no Bronco?

 

I don't hate ford 100%, but I don't like the way the new Mustang looks. Bronco stick shift only comes with the tiny engine. If you want the bigger engine you have to get an auto.
The companies stance on issues of the day is not pleasing either.

 

I’d take one with a 5.0 - auto trans is fine. Buddy just finished building the engine for his 1970. Still needs body restoration.

 

Right, I'm not opposed to a Bronco at all, even though the 5.0 isn't an option, is it? I was just saying I wouldn't by the stick version. That post/list was restricted to what is on offer and what I can actually afford as well. I certainly wouldn't mind a Porsche 718 with a manual or an auto transmission, but I don't have a 6 figure vehicle budget.

 

The biggest engine you can get in a new Bronco has a whopping 2.7L of displacement. World is going to hell.

Yup. Honestly, I expect it'll still take a big bite out of the Wrangler market. If only for the new shiny factor. If it's not plagued with any kind of reliability issues the Bronco is just a Wrangler with a bunch of improvements.
