Quick Question before I start spending a buttload of money on my 2000 model. Will a 4WD leveling kit (2.5 Rough Country N3 Lift Struts) fit on a RWD model? The kit on the site says its primarily for 4WD models but upon reading other forums for different makes and models, they say this is untrue in most cases. Thanks for any clarification

    Ask @Darkness but I'm 97% certain it'll work for both 2wd and 4wd

    I might be wrong.
It will definitely fit, but I think that 2.5 inches of lift fluctuates.
If you throw those on a double cab on comparison to a 4wd Access cab, you’ll get more lift on the double cab. If you throw them on a 2wd access cab, you’ll get a lot more lift than the 4wd. Maybe a half inch. For some reason the 4wd access cabs get the least amount.

The Rancho quicklifts, which are pretty much the same thing, offer the same coilover for both 4wd and Rwd. I wouldn’t worry

    Same thing with bilstein.
As you can see, lift fluctuates with each type.

Only difference in suspension with TRD is that TRD have upgraded strut coils. It will not change anything.

Nope, not at all. In fact you may get slightly more lift than a 4wd would (like half an inch if that) and you have less to worry about. @Beefnbread is correct.

Stuff you will want to worry about:
Are you going to run a bigger tire? If so, depending on what wheels you have and what tire you want, you may need spacers to push the wheels outward.

is the rest if your suspension in good shape? While "the patient is open" you may want to replace things like lower ball joints or tie rod ends.

I plan on putting 22x12's with a -50 offset, just a clean look with a nice riding experience is all I'm going for with this. No clap wagon exhaust, though if I did run a kit I'd like it to be deep. But yea if anything looks out of shape when I take the wheel off I'll surely compensate.

12" wide wheels you say? That's gonna be outside the norm. I'm interested.

    Not a bad look
I’ve been watching this guy on youtube and he has 22x12s. Not really into the 3 inch lift and stock rear though

He put the rear struts in the video after lol. Idk why he didn't put them on in the same video he lifted it. He's the only person with a 1st gen I've seen actually make videos on it with a complete build. Shame he sold it though

I hate he put that exhaust on. Hope I'm not the only one who doesn't like extremely loud exhausts on trucks.

22x12’s and “nice riding experience” do not go together. Width of wheel and tire, weight of wheel and tire and sidewall height (or lack thereof) will all fight you in the comfort and ease of use dept. Literally choosing the worst riding experience setup possible. Unless 24x12’s would fit……
