Tacoma and 4R have similar gas mileage, imo. Especially when neither one will remain stock.

And here I am adding heavier tires, huge steel skid plates, a metal tonneau; and driving around with lead soled shoes making fun of people for trying to save gas... With a little tear squirting out as I remember I'm going to have to fill her up before Saturday.

Welcome to the group. It's not actually a source of joy to see post counts knocked down, but it gets discussed because people who don't participate until they have something to sell do happen. Some people are here for the minimum 30 days, then spam a bunch to hit 50 posts, and then pop up items to sell. Others joined and lurked without engaging much over the years, and then they pump up the post count to sell an item.

Now, motives can be murky. Maybe they just figured they'd offer a deal to fellow Tundra owners. Who knows? The thing is the way the post count is reached/the content of the posts matters, and is all the mods have to go on.

Honest question: were you actually interested in all of the items in the marketplace where you asked "Best Price?" or were you just trying to hit 50 posts?

If you want to prove the mods wrong, stick around and engage some folks. Trust me, nothing would make all of us happier than to have another active member. There have been plenty of people who lurked, and said as much when they realized they had something to sell. They said it, decided to engage the community and be a part of it, and happened to go way over the required post count because they found out its a fun place to hang out. Try it out. Set the floor mats aside for a minute, and talk to some people for a while.

Ford is redesigning the Ranger. Have you seen it? They're also doing the Ranger Raptor here in the states. Might be worth checking into if you haven't already.

Honestly, I just don't have it in me to buy domestic. I know I don't keep my vehicles forever but reliability still matters to me. I routinely find myself in -20 with no cell service so I need complete confidence in my vehicle. Not to mention even though it'd be covered under warranty it still sucks not being able to drive your vehicle all the time.

But I read anecdotes that the full sized Raptor had the worst resale value for full sized trucks, and among the worst for any automobile. I wonder if that'll translate.

They take a chunk of depreciation, but then they don't drop much after, I think. Pop up used Raptors and they only go so low.

Personally, the only F150 Raptor I would consider is one of the older V8s. My terrible luck used means I'd have to win the lottery or otherwise be financially secure to the point I didn't need to work and could have it rebuilt if needed.

They actually look pretty cool but I'm leaning towards a body on frame vehicle. I tend to find myself going faster than I should through the woods and trucks are better equipped to handle my recklessness

LOL. Actually, it was just the first thing off the top of my head to get our conversation away from other topic of the day.

What if you went full-cool and got a Hilux import? Subaru for commuting and a Hilux for dirt work.
