The need for the spacer plates was eliminated by a design change and Tyler changed the bolt diameter of one of the pairs of bolts. I believe it is the bolts for the front of the front skid, but not positive. My write-up does not cover these changes.

That is all of it! Are you looking for the spacers? I updated the Z bracket design to not need it

Thanks. I must have missed the part about the spacers.
I think I was just thrown off a little as the bolt sizes and number of washers was different than the the write ups I've seen.

Hate to say it but Tyler probably needs to stop developing new versions and different configurations. Need to focus on what's already been designed and ship ship ship. Maybe even reduce the product offerings to streamline the operation. Fewer choices = faster production times.

Ordered mine mid’ish January. 3/16” steel. Shipped yesterday and arrived today! Awesome packaging, btw.
I’m using SCREWD security bolts and anxious to pair it with the plates.

    Thanks @Classy63!

I finally got my 3/16 steel front and rear plates installed. Very easy and straightforward process. As other instructions in this forum have indicated, just make sure you watch the brake line in the pax side; it’s a tight fit. What I found that helped quite a bit, being this was a quick solo job while kiddos in school, was to use a creeper and place the front plate on it, roll under the truck towards the front, and then lift it up. That helped tremendously, as the front plate is a little heavy. It also saved a ton of time and eliminated the need for me to drag it under the truck and getting it scratched up. very happy with this order and, although not a 100% guarantee cats won’t be stolen, it certainly is a major deterrent and not something that can be easily achieved without being noticed. I finally feel relief when I drive my truck out and leave parked in a business parking lot. Now, just hope no gas thieves drill my tank.

Losing my mind. I hope I get mine Valhalla plates very soon. Been waiting 2 months. He is busy and had some other delays...I get that. I am just reluctant to park the truck anywhere and never leave it overnight outside of the garage. Threat of theft has caused me to rearrange when and where I can even use the damn truck. The other day I was getting my oil changed at a dealer (Katy TX) and there was a big line of Tundras and other Toyotas that I was told all had their cats stolen...big wait time apparently for them to get new cats. Damn.

Same here. I’m in the DFW metroplex and I parked mine in the garage for almost a month and didn’t take it anywhere. When I needed something from Lowe’s or HD, I drove my car and hoped nothing really large (like a fridge) was on clearance. Ha. From order to ship was about 9-10 weeks. Tyler shipped Monday and I got Tuesday. I’ve had my Screwd bolts for a while now. Being you’re in Katy, you may be able to work something out and pick up from him.

I’m wondering if anyone has had any (or heard of) overheating (or transmission problems due to) with the thicker steel plates, or aluminum for that matter. A guy was telling me about it a while back, but his info was supposedly second-hand.

It’s time for my ToyotaCare oil change, and I usually park at the dealership the night before. Will see if any shenanigans happen overnight and if my cats are still on when I pick up

No problem with the transmission and cat plate. Even pulled a trailer thousands of miles with no issue.

The creeper idea ia super close to what I do. I use a furniture dolly to move the plates under the trucks. The 3/16 steel front cat plates are hard to put up by yourself, I highly recommend a friend for that one

I got that bad boy mounted all by myself, and didn't even cut any fingers. I used a furniture dolly too, kinda... Once the skid plate rear bolts were loosened to provide the gap for the front bolt channels (superior engineering on that, sir); I laid right under where it mounts up (on a pad, not a creeper), and head facing the rear of the truck; rolled the dolly next to me and pulled the plate ontop of me; used my knees to lift the front of the plate in place, and shoved it in. I was in position to hold it there and still fiddle with getting the nuts threaded on the rear bolts. Pie.

Looking forward to the v3 rear plate; but the skid and front plate are really nice armor. I brag that if I had a peg on the wall strong enough to hold it, I could hang the truck from the skid plate. Nice work.

^ Sounds like me installing my TRD skid plate by myself..
My front plate should arrive today, was supposed to be yesterday (FUK Fedex, no fault of Tyler).

I'm very happy to get the plate in before getting my truck back from the dealer, thanks Tyler.
I won't have to pay $600 for the smaller Toyota plate just to remove it and sell it.

Would it be worth replacing the rear skid plate bolts?
Did you pull them out, or just loosen them.
I did buy the security bolts and the nut plate, just wondering if it is worth the trouble to replace the skid plate bolts.
Being I have a 2WD I hear it is easier..
    TIA.

If you're going with Tyler's skid, definitely get the security bolts, and the conical security washers, too. Since I was doing skid and cat plate in the same day, I left them loose as I mounted it, in anticipation of the next stage. I don't know how tough it would be with a non-Valhalla's skid to loosen versus replace, but if it were me I'd go ahead and replace.
