Haha! I’d be all for that if my dog wasn’t our child and he gets the AC all day when the temps start to rise.

I've seen the same results with a standard issue Red Ryder BB Gun.

Sucks, hope you can find a reasonably priced fix rather then the entire assembly. Is insurance an option?

Yes, that’s an option. Glass is covered under warranty. Just waiting to see what’s the best option.

Did you ever end up fixing this? I just got a set of BudBuilt skids and noticed the same problem. Seems the slot in the matching skid needs to be opened up as well if larger bolts are used.

Nope. I still have the skids overlapping the wrong way so the bolts work.

I actually just recently pulled them off and put them back on and was again annoyed by this.

Yeah, I'm not impressed by these skids. Considering the cost, you'd think there'd be better attention to detail. The cross member I received looks a bit sloppy too. One of the plates was welded on 1/4" off center and the mounting holes in the round tube are noticably off center as well. Gonna fit everything up today to see how it goes together.

    Good luck!

I definitely agree the quality isn’t as good as I was expecting. They’re still doing their job protecting my underside.

Remove the stock transfer case skid if you have it. I didn’t know to take it off, hit my bud built transfer skid, and it moved up enough to break the stock one off.

Well, tried installing the skids and ran into so many interference issues that they're going back. Really wanted these to work but they just didn't line up right, the bolt issue you found can't be fixed with larger bolts because the hole in the frame is too small, and the engine skid was about 1/16" away from touching the bottomed of the engine. SMH

Such a bummer. Going with RCI?

The holes lined up for me - aside from the front skid. Those allen bolts, I think I have 2 of 5 in right now.

Not sure which route to go. With the RCI plates I'm not a fan of how they broke up the engine skid into two pieces and the split is in the middle of the flat area under the engine. CBI looks good but heavy. We'll see. Thanks for your feedback!

My BB skid went on pretty easy. Not sure what’s going on with y’all’s :notsure:

I think BB has the best off the shelf TC skid for Tundras because of the crossmember. It has allowed me to slide over all kinds of shit.

Had an awesome weekend in the desert to celebrate my brothers 30th birthday! Even got my dad to drive down for his first wheeling trip in a LONG time.
(They both drove down from the Bay Area and neither have any desert experience).

Blasted around Anza, Ocotillo, and Fish Creek.

I’m actually surprised by the very minimal rubbing on the front fenders. Just a small section center top of the opening.
But there’s a lot going on with the fender liner, and that’ll likely mean I need to do metal work to the wheel well/engine Bay area for full uptravel.

The rear tires grab the lip at the edge of the bedside, pulled it, and sliced the side lugs pretty good.
Also have some plastic rubbing in there, going to need to get under and see what’s behind all that and what I can clearance.

    Hahaha!

My dad’s Jeep is a dark dark forest green, and my brother’s taco is MGM.
    Definitely all have dark vehicles!

The last black vehicle I remember my dad having was in the late 90’s when he had a Land Rover. It was unfortunately crunched by a tree branch outside our house.

Damn that’s barely any rubbing Mike!!!

Did it push the rear fender well up a bit from the photos? Looks slightly bent?

This is about to get exciting... you're about to chop things up! LOL.

Did you try to articulate the fronts yet since you're on 0 offset?

Haha it is likely, but not immediately.

Yeah, front articulated. Definitely not as bad as I was expecting.
