More Power, More Torque, More Quite

Hi everyone,

I own a 2017 1794 edition. I bought my truck for the luxury features to tow a travel trailer in my semi-retirement.

I'm looking for suggestions to increase power and torque, better breaks, and a much more quiet exhaust or insulation for the cab to deaden the sound of the current exhaust, which is too loud for my liking in a luxury truck.

I realize my use of my Tundra is very different from the majority of folks on this forum, but you all are so knowledgable, I covet your suggestions all things Tundra.

 

The irony is, one of the usual ways to increase power is to install a more free-flowing exhaust (read louder). Even then, you're not looking at much improvement. Really, the best bang for your many bucks, is going to be a supercharger. Unlike the chevy LS engines, the Tundra engine doesn't leave much on the table as far as bolt-on performance.

As for noise, I'm not aware of a quieter aftermarket exhaust. You might be better served by having a stereo shop install sound deadening materials throughout your cab.

I read in a different forum that there was a supercharger that increased HP and Torque to 550 each. Was skeptical, but that would certainly be what I am looking for. And as far as dampening the sound, I am going to be doing that. Keith from Dirty Deeds indicated that his 12 inch exhaust would reduce sound, so that is likely the way I'll go there in the near future, unless someone offers other thoughts. Keith also indicated it would be a slight boost in power as well. Just looking for all help possible to get it ready for the 50,000 miles I'm soon gonna put on her pulling a TT.

 

then I wouldn't be driving a Tundra and, well, that wasn't an option for this 3X Toyota truck owner. haha. I'm only pulling a 25 ft TT. The 5.7 L is perfect really and has enough power as stated before, and it is already more quiet than a diesel, but still louder than the Ford Limited and Platinum

 

You can still install the supercharger from Magnuson good for 550/550.

You can get one installed for around $6900 my friend just got it done .

 

The 2007-11or12 had a resonator in front of the stock muffler. It made the exhaust grave yard quiet. (I had an 07) You might want to just look at doing something similar to this. It probably wouldn't cost much. I was quite surprised when I drove my 2015 for the first time and you could actually hear the exhaust with it stock.

 

That's a good deal considering the supercharger and fit kit cost $6900+
