Hi. Is anyone running 275/65/20 or 275/60/20 on their 2022's? Would love to hear your feedback and see some photos is you have them!

Also wondering, going from a stock 32" tire up to a 34" tire, will there be a lot of MPG loss?

Thanks... I've looked through all 20 of those pages, at least twice and all the other random wheel/ tire threads and haven't found much of anything on those sizes. Hoping to expedite my search a little here...

34 inch tires on 3rd gen are no issue, with a level and the right offset wheels, 35x1250 fit.

and in the earlier link I sent, check post 13 for a truck, stock, running 295/60/20, so yes, either of those sizes you listed will work as well.

    Lots of room.

I have 275 65 20 stock rims. Love em. Haven't driven enought to know how gas gas milage will be but will not have much to compare to as the stock tires came off at 97 miles. :)IMG_20220320_163517.jpg

275/60/20 KO2s. Plenty of room to go up to 285.

You didn’t lift/level your TRD Sport? I’m getting mine this week and trying to decide what I can fit without touching the suspension…haven’t seen too many Sport’s with larger tires yet. I’d like to go with 285/60/20.

No lift. I’m going to put a leveling kit on it eventually. I see no problem with 285s

I believe you can only get the 275/65/20 in an E 125 rated tire which is on the upper end of heavy duty LT tires. Would be 60-70 lbs each.

I think most 275/60/20 are around 35-45 each and have a lighter load rating.

I have had both on different trucks. I would go with the 60 on the halfton as it is rated more appropriately.

There are some other non E larger tire options in 17s and 18s if you want to change wheels.

I do want to change to 18s, but can't justify spending the money on that right now.

I have a limited TRD double cab and plan on putting a highrise topper on, will be building a sleeping platform with pull out shelves to hold my gear and plan on toting around my 340lb dual sport bike on the trailer hitch rack at times... Still trying to fully understand the tire load ratings, but do you think I could get away with a D or will need the E?

On the 18s the 295/70/18 terra grappler I believe comes in an standard P rating and its light for its size. I think its 116 and thats the top end until you get to 121 E or D.

I would buy what you want and sell the factory’s before you put too many miles on them.

I don’t think you need an E. I set up our f150s at work with standard 108-116 tires to keep the mpg up. You just need to match the rear GAWR and always air up when loaded.

I wouldn’t run an E on a halfton unless I was rock crawling because they are thicker and more puncture resistant. I seem to pick up less nails with E tires as well but am on jobsites often. I have before but not worth the decreased mpg and ride.

I think the general grabber comes in a 275/70/18 as well that is a 116 p tire. I think its 33.3” and not to heavy.

I would run that and adjust your rear air suspension up or check into changing the springs. Leave the rest stock unless you have a special need to lift it.

Your truck looks great. Do you by chance have anymore photos to share with the 34s on it? Also what kind of tire?

I appreciate the comment! Typically, I have more pics of my vehicles than I do my kids. LOL! I haven't had a chance to take many yet. Here's one from the back and a close up of the tire. It's hard to tell on my sloped driveway but it sits pretty level with no lift. The tires are BF Goodrich KO 2's.

This is actually not really true as a few examples of the 275/65-20’s exist well under 60 pounds and LT. I originally was going with the Pirellis that are OEM for the Rivian but could not get a firm delivery date. So went with a Firestone xt which is about 52 and have not noticed much difference in gas mileage. Really like how they look, they are quiet and notice no change in responsiveness.

Are you referring to the Prilli scorpion all terrain plus? I've been looking at those as well. Do you know much about them? It seems that the tread wears somewhat fast from what I've read.

I'm between the Prilli and the Cooper Discovery at3 xlt. I understand that the Cooper is 60lbs and rated E, but from everything I've read it seems like a really good tire. Maybe I'll look into the Firestone XT.

Nice looking tire. I considered those but they were on back order with the local Discount Tire. Ended up going with KO 2's and they are an E rated and weigh 57 lbs. 20 pounds more than stock but haven't driven enought to notice gas mileage. Pretty sure it will be a little less though from past experiences. The Cooper was a consideration as well but I believe the are closer the 67 lbs? I could be mistaked but that's what I recall.

Yeah I see. Quick look on Discount says there is the terra grappler and recon grappler Nittos in that size at 48lbs and SL rating.

I had a set of Falken Wildpeaks AT's on my 16 CM. I think they were SL rated. I had great luck with these tires. Super smooth and quiet. I got a great deal on the KO's so thought I would give them a try.

275/65/20 Toyo AT3’s on stock rims. Definitely a bit more room to work with.

Not true. I have 275/65r20s in a P-rated tire. Pics and details in the build thread in my sig below.

No rubbing, no fender liner adjustments, no suspension mods. I'm getting the exact same MPG on the computer now as I did before the swap, which theoretically means I actually IMPROVED mileage because I'm traveling 5% farther per revolution. I also did the swap before 1k miles though so there was still break in going on.

I get 20+ on the highway and 16-17 around town

I have the Pirelli AT+. They're AWESOME so far (About 1500 miles). Super quiet, great traction, severe snow rated, 50k mile tread warranty. Drive almost exactly like the stock tires

What mileage are you guys seeing with your 275/65/20 tires? Just had some Cooper Rugged Trek tires installed at 50 miles and curious about the mileage people are seeing.

I’ll be honest, most of my driving is freeway/highway at 70-80. 3000 miles in and I mostly see it sitting around 15 MPG. I also drive in Sport mode 95% of the time.

In my own digging, I found the metric sizes were much more $$ than the "standard"... Installed 35.11.5r20 Nitto Recon Grappler which were ~$380 tire at discount tire... the metric equivalents were almost $50 tire more if I remember right (just looked at Discount Tire website, the prices have gone up... ) I will say the 35x11.5R20 on the stock TRD wheels fit with NO lift/ level, with mudflaps (no rubbing at all)... I have a front spacer level kit in the shop but decided not to use it since it isnt' needed. I was running KO2's on my last rig and they got really loud after about 20K miles.... Loving these Recon Grapplers so far...
