I used to be this level of expert (ignorant) on all things Corrado and VW when I was younger. They never did this, that was never an option, they never made one in 2.9L, and so on and so on. Turns out I didnt know as much as I thought back then..... Turns out dealerships and customers order some weird shit from and at the factory bud. So if a whole sale toyota liquidators tells me something, im probably going to chalk up the clearly 4runner wheels some how came off of an FJ at a dealership and then never touched again. Weither it was a customer option, a wheel package swap, and or some tech in the back doing cheeky shit, I'm going to believe the guy who sold me the wheels over your "expert" internet knoweldge. Now move off it already.

How about we call them Toyota wheels and be done with the pissing match?

@VR6T not sure if your frustration over your lugs is just spilling out but the factory lugs on these trucks are considered too short for a lot of wheels. A lot of us run ET style nuts for that reason. Bummer that you didn't see that one coming. By the way, 1.8T never loses.

People that are trying to sell you stuff and take your money are never wrong.

I know you're frustrated, but that attitude won't last long around here, just saying.

I think Frenchie was just trying to help. No need to get mad at him. He's also hungover so he deserves some slack.

They did actually. Just in the last few years.

it was more common to see the lighter colored ones. But I do know the later ones had the black machined wheels too

My 3.0L 12V may disagree with that 1.8T jazz. Lmfao. Altho I will whole heartedly conceed that the 1.8 and the 2.0 are vastly simpler engines. But that torque curve and engine note can not be denied on the VRs. VRs garner 2 tyoes of fans, hardcore such as myself and then the nope not even gonna try. Lol.

Lol point made. However this gentleman that sold me the wheels did know what he was talking about. And my dumb ass completely glossed over the lug studs, and he did make mention of them.

I've seen evidence that the 1.8T has a better torque curve, surprisingly. But the sound of the VR6 is unmistakably better. Everybody loves the sound of a wookie.

Lug stud issue fixed. Jeggs has M12x1.5x2.75" studs in stock. And of course they are sold in sets of 5...... But hopefully this tike next Saturday I'll have fresh wheels and tires on my truck. Hell I might even wash it lol

24Vs wookie, 12V just banshee scream every where lol. I miss my 24V turbo 03 GLI. Sounds so so so good. Had Billy Boat do me up a custom cat back exhaust for that car. Had the 04.5 GLI 1.8 body kit on it, used to beat up in them M3 and Mustang kids. They all thought it was a bolt on 1.8T GLI , lol gotta love black anodized FMICs

No hard feelings, I was only trying to spread knowledge, not hate or ridicule. It’s been a rough week around here with our dank meme lord, MIA. Some of us have been frazzled.
Between the know it alls, and the Mangelords, I think you’ll fit right in around here.

Also, I love those FJ wheels, I’ve had my own trials and tribulations with them myself! 7A7CA541-5AB1-47EB-832F-455B08A19C25.jpg9EA040D0-DA9A-4601-9682-53042591190A.jpg

Hahaha sometimes it’s a surprise!!!! But at least your not scared or completely turning down the thought, you could have your own service center with enough deep, smooth talking Dan clones working the bays……..
